What’s the trigger for P0744 code on my 2012 Nissan Pathfinder? Change the fluid or the TCC Solenoid? Prior DSC u1001 and u0101 COMM

Hello! I'm new to the forum. I own a 2012 Nissan Pathfinder Silver Edition 2WD, and I've been encountering a p0744 Torque Converter error. Although my truck runs quite well and shifts gears smoothly, I've experienced a random jerk on two occasions. Recently, the check engine light came on, and I received the p0744 error code. Fortunately, I haven't noticed any major issues or slipping.

Before this error occurred, I performed a drain and fill using Valvoline MaxLife ATF, but unfortunately, the code returned. I'm wondering if anyone else has encountered this issue. Should I completely drain the fluid and replace it with Authentic Nissan Matic S fluid? Additionally, I'm considering changing the Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid and dropping the pan this time, as I've read that debris or poor fluid flow can cause this problem.

Now, let me provide some background information. I've previously experienced the u1001 and u0101 COMM errors on a few occasions. Despite my truck running fine, I thoroughly inspected it using my Maxisys Pro tool, checked the fuses, plugs, and wires, and everything seemed to be in order. However, just yesterday, while my wife was driving, all the warning lights illuminated, the gauges went to zero, and the lights and blinkers stopped working. She pulled over, turned off the engine, and then restarted it, and everything seemed fine afterward.

Based on this incident, I suspect that the intelligent key may be malfunctioning and mistakenly indicating that the key is not present while driving. To test this theory, I drove the vehicle for 10 minutes with the key blade inserted, and I didn't encounter the u1001 and u0101 codes or any other issues, except for the check engine light triggering, which now only shows the p0744 error.

You mean problem is this? You have communication called failure. Realize there's a computer bus line that runs everything in that vehicle. When you get to communication failures, there are literally hundreds of reasons. They can fail. Anything from a loose wire? Bad ground bad sensor. Computer module anywhere in the system will trip that code. It could be a gigantic stinker to figure out what's wrong. I mean it could be the solenoid if you want to try that that that's solenoid goes bad. It can triple communication code and the PO744 code. Good luck!
