Scotty, love the name even if you are wearing it backwards. Just saying. So what kind of used / new van should an almost retired single guy be looking at to travel south in the winter to stay warm and see what I can see? YouTube Vanlife videos love the Ford Transit Van and many others the Sprinter Van. I know that you once bragged of wandering the country in a Chevy Van. What about Nissan? What can I keep for 10-years or 250K miles without too many tears? Stay well Scotty
Mercedes Sprinter has reliable decent diesel engines, but it has a lot of maintenance. The Ford Transits are decent vans without the Ecoboost engine. Scotty haven't fixed Nissan full size vans yet so he doesn't know the reputation of reliability.
If you're looking for affordable then your choices are the Transit or a Conversion Chevy. See what's available near you. Avoid the Nissan.
Nissan full size vans are underrated vehicles. Let's be honest here lol
@alvin
In all honesty, no they are not. Not for me, anyway.
Well I mean I never see them on the road. I only see the same owner with the car for at least a year lol.

The Sprinter is a good van but expensive to buy and maintain knowing its a Mercedes. You might want to give a cheap Chevy a try or maybe even the Transit. Hey maybe buy a Sienna and fold/take out the second and third row seats and tada sleeping van!
I can't imagine being retired with a stiff back, and living out of a Sienna minivan for a whole season. This is high-top territory.
I see what you mean... Guess save it for myself?
