| Hey Scotty! I inherited a 2007 Ford Escape XLT. V6, AWD, Auto trans. 112,000 miles. I’ve replaced the battery, pads and rotors, front shocks and springs, rear shocks, coil on plugs, plugs, EGR, alternator, various sensors, hoses and filters. I also put four new tires on it. Now the car is not shifting from 1st to 2nd, or 3rd to 4th (Unless I lift the throttle) no codes but the O/D light will sometimes flash. The local mechanic quoted me $7,200.00 to put in a remanufactured trans. It also needs some exhaust work and the oil pan has developed a leak. I’ve ... | |||||

| Even a broken clock is right twice a day. While the engine and transmission may be better than the Ecoboost and 10-speeds in today’s Ford products, but everything else around it is not built well and Ford quality has continued to go downhill. I would not automatically assume a newer one will last just as long as your current (older) one. I personally would avoid it. . | |||||

| I just got my first car. 2002 ford Escape XLT with the 3.0 duratec and 4WD. It's at 220k miles and has done fine. No misfires, engine codes, nothing showing signs of worry. I know these had problems with transmissions going out, my grandma had an 06 and went through two, but the transmission is still smooth and normal. Is there anything i should be aware of in the future? | |||||

| Hey Scotty, I have a 2012 Ford Escape Limited , 6 cylinder automatic with front wheel drive and the front end noise is driving me nuts. The struts look fine to me, no bouncing and they are not leaking. I have also changed the sway bar links but the noise is still there. It’s sounds like a groaning or grinding noise. It also seems to go away after driving about five miles. I notice it mostly when I’m backing out of my driveway and turning onto the street. I’ve tried spraying the bottom of the strut springs where they seat at the bottom plate with red spray g ... | |||||

| Hey all. I've got a 2012 Ford Escape 3.0L V6 with 130k miles and it has been super noisy since I bought it a couple months ago. I'm not sure how it is supposed to sound brand new and I'm not sure how it's supposed to perform brand new but how it sounds and performs right now definitely don't seem normal. NO OBDII FAULT CODES. I put new spark plugs on it right after I got it home since the previous owner said it had sat in a barn for months (they were kind enough to put a new battery on it themselves). It has also since had the coolant, transmission fluid, di ... | |||||

| Hey Forum, I have a 2008 Ford Escape 4 cylinder 2.3L non hybrid with 170,000+ miles on it. For some reason, when I start the car after it being cold, there is a loud rattling noise that sounds like a flap of metal slapping around. However, when I put it in park to listen for it, it goes away. Also, after I drive the car for a bit, the noise goes away. Have any idea of what it could be? Thank You, -JP | |||||
