| Engine draining sounds | 11Relevance | 6 years ago | Sandrasawyer | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| My daughter and I were just sitting in the car (2016 Ford escape titanium). It was off. While just sitting there the car looked like the lights came on and the dash panel and lights came on. Started the car and shut it off. This happened a couple times. Eventually the car would not start. I looked under the hood and the car sounded like it was draining. I was afraid of the sound and would pull one fuse at a time and eventually the engine control relay was the one. I put it back in. I asked my neighbor to jump my battery. It was 14.7 I went to auto zone ... | |||||

| ... hours straight without issue, went to shut the car off, no problems. Next day I go and start the car, drive maybe 30 minutes, come back home and go to shut it off, and the battery light stays on while the car is completely off, but strangely the light goes away if the car is started. Didn't have time to try and diagnose last night. Tonight found battery is dead and sitting around 1.35V according to my meter. 24 hours of constant dash light, is this drain because of the light? never had this issue with old alternator, but could be something to do with the ... | |||||

| Check engine light after sitting 10 months | 11Relevance | 4 years ago | wn4isx | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| My sister just moved into an assisted living facility and gave my wife and I her 2001 Echo. Single owner, 79K miles. The car sat from the middle of January 2022 until October 9, 2022. I replaced the battery and the car started right up with no noticiable hesitation. The tires were down to ~20PSI, we filled them to 32PSA as per the manual. There was about 1/4 tank, I added 2 gasline antifreeze to take care of any water and filled up with Shell premium The car drives perfectly but, the check engine light came on yesterday morning after being Tdriving perhaps 35 miles and the check engine light came on and the low coolant indicator comes on but goes off after 2 minutes. My wife is recovering from knee replacement surgery and I have not had a chance to read any error codes. What is the likely hood of the CEL being a false alarm because the car sat for so long. I've checked under the car in the hospital parking lot and this morning at home and there deosn't appear to be any coolant leaks. Will AT 205 Reseal seal any minor water pump leaks? Thank you, love your you tube video. The ATS 205 stopped a minor leak in the power steering in another car with 200K. | |||||

| I have a 2011 Chevy HHR i only drove it 3,000 miles in the span of 6 months it’s still sitting ant 120,000 miles.the Battery went out one day so I charged it. Ever since then I noticed the lights getting dimmer and dimmer until one day it just died. The day before the car door latch broke and it’s always been hard to turn the car off traction control as well as having hard shifts every so often. The check engine light before the car didn’t start initially read “a/c temperature sensor” but when I got a mobile mechanic out months prior to it not starting he wi ... | |||||

| Probably you would be checking the condition of the brake system components when you flush the brake fluid, especially to make sure that the calipers are not sticking. And check the condition of the tires for cracks or any other deterioration having sat that long. | |||||

| ... is on and a message is saying slow down and change to lower gear. I press the pedal RPM goes up but the speed does not increase. I can drive as much as I want, but only at max 45 km/hr! I took the car to the mechanics the first guy changed the mass air sensor and checked and cleaned spark plugs. Nothing changed. I took it to another mechanic and after a lot of tests they said old fuel in the tank had gummed up and gave me an estimation of 2800 dollars to clean the tank and fuel lines and change the injectors and spark plugs. | 2002 Honda Odyssey vacuum leak? | 11Relevance | 5 years ago | johanyea | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hey all, so my family has a Honda odyssey that's been sitting since January due to a bad alternator. One mechanic said that a bad valve cover gasket was getting oil on the alternator which caused it to stop working, so he put in a new valve cover gasket, cleaned the alternator from all the oil and said it should work fine now. The car still couldn't run by itself, so 2 months later, we got another mechanic who said the alternator was bad. He charged the battery, and then put in a new alternator and finally the car ran after half a year of sitting. However, h ... | |||||

| ... possibility is they aren't filling all the way from a failing compressor or small leak. If that was the case the car would be sagging in rear or whole thing would be sitting lower. The valve block is another possibility but you would be sitting lower or sagging A bi directional scanner will help you figure out if you have any issues with air suspension or components. It Will tell you if you have a small leak, valve block issue or if compressor is timing out. Personally I feel like it's a worn suspension part and not your air suspension. | |||||
