Negotiate the price in person? Does this time frame also include exploring other options just in case this one happens to be a bad egg? You already don't like the center console thing on this one right? If the seller doesn't have paperwork, I would already say it's a no go. I get that you need a car rn since the last commuter broke. But again IMO, I think that things could be ...
| Rav4 2006 excessive engine vibration | 10Relevance | 5 years ago | andresortur | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi! My dad has a 2006 Rav4 with the 2.4 litter 4 cylinder engine. We noticed excessive vibration inside the car while sitting in park or neutral.. in drive, the car vibrates a little bit but not too much but if you rev it in neutral, the car shakes really bad and is noticeable while sitting inside. Also noticed the engine itself shakes too and the air box. We checked the engine mounts and the top one in the passenger side looked bad so we installed a brand new one but didn’t change the transmission one and the front one because they look relatively new but ... | |||||

| "BringATrailer.com". ...its not going to make a good daily driver. Nothing that old is. Sure, the mileage is super but things wear out just from age and sitting. In fact, sitting is one of the worst things you can do to a car. I get why you like it, don't get me wrong. And I don't mean to be that guy, but just think on it a bit. Would you be comfortable knowing your ability to get to work rested on that car? Your ability to get home? I played that game for years and that's why we have a 2015 Camry and a 2020 Accord as daily drivers at my house. The to ... | |||||

Another test I would do is park it on a different level of the garage and see what happens? Try a lower floor without the inclines? Since sitting over night does not duplicate the issue, I'm suspecting it's the odd length of time it's sitting for at work. I'm guessing that's the only time it will sit like that from 7am to 2pm vs how you use the vehicle for other trips.
| RE: 2014 Toyota Corolla Keeps Dying After Sitting For A Couple Days, Please Help | 10Relevance | 5 years ago | therealdsebasg | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi there, thanks again for the previous tips and suggestions. Since my last update, I went ahead and replaced all the turn signal bulbs and erased the previously mentioned B1507 code and it has not returned, so the car currently shows no codes when scanned. I followed Scotty Kilmer's parasitic draw test video and the multi-meter showed a -.141A draw after a while of the car being turned off. When I pulled the "D/C CUT 30A" fuse it went down to -.048A, when plugged back in it went back up to -.141A. When I pulled the "ECU-B 10A" fuse it also went from -.141A down to -.050A. When I pulled both "D/C CUT 30A" & "ECU-B 10A" at the same time it did not go lower (-.048A). When I pulled the "DOME 10A" fuse it went from -.141A down to -.083A. I left this fuse pulled out since my mother does not need to use the dome lights. So at this point the car has a -.083A draw. None of the other fuses have any effect on the draw. Approximately what would be considered normal draw for a 2014 Toyota Corolla with a Toyota dealer installed (Installed at the time of purchase in 2013) alarm and remote engine starter? Also any advise on what the "D/C CUT" & ECU-B" fuses stand for would be appreciated. Lastly do you think it would be worth the time and cost for my mother to have a mechanic examine those to try get the car from the current -.083A to -.048A? | |||||
| Answer to: Started a car that was sitting a year or 2 | 10Relevance | 5 years ago | Justin Shepherd | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| You probably should have cleaned that tank and the fuel line/ rail out before you tried starting it. I did this with my '79 Pontiac Catalina after it sat for 5 years, but it has a carburetor that costs at most $500 or so and easily bolts on/off if I clog it, etc. There's no expensive electronic fuel injection stuff that's buried in the engine to clog up. A good tip for next time you start a car that's sat for years is spray WD40 or PB Blaster down into the spark plug holes so the piston rings can get some lubrication and let it sit for a while. This will help lubricate the piston rings until the oil gets to them. You should change the oil as well. Starting an engine that sat and has no lubrication will cause wear in a hurry. | |||||

Since then we get bi-weekly updates about the tech looking and corporate giving them direction. So far, they don’t know what’s wrong and say we owe more than $1,500 in diagnostic/labor fees. Today, March 6, they called and said they need to replace computer and wiring harness at a cost of $3,000...not covered under 100,000 mile warranty. I also owe $5200 on my car and it has been sitting in the driveway for at least 6 months now. I am also in the Army and will be deploying later on this year so if I fix it it's going to be sitting in the driveway again if I can't rent it out. It is an automatic car and has around 138k-142k miles on it. Any advice and suggestions are much appreciated and thank you in advance.

| Vehicle drains battery after 2 or 3 days, and silently shuts off when making right turns. Hello Scotty, I have a 2001 mazda mpv DX v6. It was sitting outside for many years with no use. I had the engine replaced with a re-manufactured engine. The problem is that now the battery keeps getting drained after 2 or 3 days of just sitting there. Also, whenever I make a right turn, the car just shuts off as if there is no power or gas. Just shuts off almost like I turn the key to the off position while driving. Had the fuel pump and fuel sending unit replaced ... | |||||

It’s a great car but I had to place it in storage for a while building a new mancave at a new residence. It sat for quite a while and when I went back to get it, it started right up but would only go about 5 MPH. It has been sitting for several more years now and will no longer even start. I have since removed the nasty old gas. I am assuming that the fuel system is the problem due to bad gas an ...

| Hey scotty, Im working on a friends 2004 Chrysler Town and Country EX with a 3.8L V6. Its got 170,000 miles. So the van was sitting for a couple months and he told me it shut off while he was driving so he changed the battery and it did the same thing. So i checked the battery voltage, made sure it was the correct battery, cleaned the corrosion on the negative cable(positive cable had no corrosion but still cleaned it) and put a jumper on the battery to give it a little boost since it was at 11.60 volts. Started it up and it started and died. So next went t ... | |||||

If the choke and rest of the carb are working properly and the car has not been sitting too long it should start if you first hit the gas pedal a couple of times to set the choke and have the accelerator pump squirt some gas into the intake. Hold the gas pedal partway down while cranking. However, pumping the gas too much will flood the intake and the mixture will be too rich to ignite. If this happens you'd need to sit there with the choke and accelerator fully open for several minutes while the excess gas evapora ...

I can cold start it simply, idle starts a bit rough and then smooths out a bit but still idles quite rough, if I try to shit into gears the car stalls. R or D, it stalls.
