| The one that will be the most reliable is the frontier, so frontier > F-150 > Silverado. You mention 2012 and newer so definitely stay away from the Chevy Silverado, but the F-150 should be OK; however, for the F-150 for minimal issues avoid any of the Ecoboost engines and just stick with the NA V8. Also, don’t go beyond MY 2018 when they used the Gen 3 Coyote 5.0 (it had oil burning issues) and avoid the 10-speed AT. The frontier is midsize while the F-150 is full-size. You didn’t list any other constraints so I can’t narrow it for you further. | |||||

| Is the 2000 Nissan Frontier a good truck? | 23Relevance | 2 years ago | Ike Harris | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I received my first truck a couple of years ago which was a 2000 Nissan frontier 2wd 4 cylinder automatic. I've had to put some TLC into it, and i still do, but it's been a really good and reliable vehicle. People have been giving me shit for driving it ever since i started driving it. What's your experience with the 2000 frontier models and from a mechanics point of view are they as reliable as mine or did i just get lucky? | |||||

| Hi, I have a 2022 Nissan frontier SV and love it. I spend a lot of time in the Dominican Republic visiting my wife and want to buy a truck here. After looking around I see they offer the 2024 Nissan frontier Pro in the diesel. What do you think about the 4 cylinder diesel option Nissan offers? | |||||
| Answer to: 23 frontier vs tacoma | 23Relevance | 3 years ago | Whatchamacallit | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Up to and including model year 2019 the Nissan frontier was pretty solid and the engine and transmission combo until then were tried and true. Starting with 2020 MY when they changed the engine and transmission, all bets were off. . Stick to the older frontier (MY 2019 and older) or the later years of the Toyota Tacoma. I would avoid the first few years of the new generation Tacoma until we learn more about what issues (if any) it has. | |||||

| Scotty, I've been following you for a couple years now and love your videos and appreciate your point of view on all things automotive. That's is why I decided to ask you a question about infrequently used vehicle care. I own a 2006 Nissan frontier XE with a 2.5L 4-cylinder engine and automatic transmission which I have owned for 3.5 years. It has only 102K miles on it and I don't drive it but a couple hundred miles a year, mostly for errands to the home improvement store. I've got a cheap Hyundai Elantra that I commute to work in because I don't want t ... | |||||

| 2006 Nissan frontier 4wd 190k miles, automatic Hello Got this car recently, gas in my v8 chevy is too much. Trying to get a v6 daily driver going. Been experiencing it getting a bit too hot at idle. Seen it go to about 110c after 20mins of sitting. Then shut it off. But then as soon as I drive off, and go about 40mph for a few mins, temp starts to drop pretty quickly. Within a few mins went from 110c to like around 70 or 80c Changed radiator, with a good used one. Same with clutch fan. And even installed radiator fans I took out of a 08 pontiac vibe. ... | |||||

| Scotty, I would really like to see a video of the new Nissan frontier. I have been looking at a new midsize truck and was thinking Toyota but my bank roll is not quite that big. The new frontier has a new 3.8L v-6 putting out over 300 ponies and almost 290 ft/lbs of torque. It also has a new design 9 speed transmission. I test drove on and the tow mode was amazing. The truck MSRP's for the low 40's and it seems like a good buy but I would really appreciate your input. | |||||

| I have a 2011 Nissan frontier, it runs like a clock, and it has 150K miles on it. It was previously owned in NEW JERSEY. With tons of stop and go city traffic, the frame is not rusted and it runs like a champ. My particular model is a 2011 Nissan frontier SV 4x4 King Cab. Just avoid the 2007-2010 model years they had timing chain issues; and the transmission coolant intermix issue. Which destroys your trans which will cost you thousands in repair cost. That issue was resolved in 2011 and future models! I wish you good luck on your search Kind Regards, -N ... | |||||

| Looking at a 2002 Nissan frontier 3.3L V6 Auto Transmission w/ 104K miles. Asking price is $3,800. I know Nissan is nothing compared to Toyota Tacomas. I know Scotty also has mentioned not a big fan of Nissan, but my father has a 95 Hard Body Nissan Truck and still running like new. Were these better built? Do you recommend this 2002 frontier? | |||||

| That’s why I usually recommend to members considering the frontier to look at older ones up to (and including) 2019 model year with their true and tried powertrain (with the 5-speed AT). 9 gears is overkill and potentially asking for trouble over time (in terms of longevity) and - along with the 3.8L V6 (VQ38D) - still fairly new in the frontier application (both introduced for 2020 model year). | |||||
| Trade in a Nissan Frontier for Toyota Tacoma | 23Relevance | 2 years ago | Ken vigs | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hey Scotty, Love every video. Watch Daily. I have a 2015 Nissan frontier (2WD) with 129,000. I bought it used for a great price with only 9,000 miles on it. It was a great deal so I bought it, but really wanted a Tacoma. Do you think it is worth trading in (always have taken care of it and is in excellent condition) the frontier for a newer low milage tacoma. Second question, I have always kept up on oil changes and “most” maintenance. I have never changed the transmission fluid. Is it beneifiacal for me to change or should I just leave it.
