| Answer to: Thoughts on plastic car ramps for DIY repair? | 22Relevance | 4 years ago | Chuck Tobias | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I have a set of steel ramps that work fine on most of my vehicles but are too steep for those that have air dams that sit low in the front. I've been thinking of looking for some plastic ramps that have a shallower angle. (Currently I use a low-profile jack and jack stands.) I've looked at the Rhino ramps but they may be too steep, and most of the low profile ramps I've found are expensive and look like they only raise the vehicle up a few inches. "Cons... Ramp angle isn't suitable for low profile vehicles" | |||||

| Answer to: Mechanical Fuel Pump Install Dentside Ford | 20Relevance | 1 year ago | Chuck Tobias | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| ... off in the event of a collision or rollover. For AMC applications it's been reported that the Korean-made gmb-brand mechanical pumps are OK. (I have not had to replace a mechanical pump myself in a long time, fortunately. A lot of the AMC pumps are dual-action with a booster for the windshield wipers and those are pretty much unobtainium.) | |||||

| Answer to: Some points you missed on bolt EV as other manufactures have same recall | 22Relevance | 5 years ago | vash | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I really really worry about the Mustang Mach-E because the every year of ford focus electric has a stop safely now issue which is coolant in battery leak. It is something ford never fixed even in the 2017 variants The "Stop Safely Now" issue (which is what the Focus Electric's dash readout says then there is a problem) is a dangerous situation that in some cases causes a loss of power to the wheels - even when the car is in operation. Fortunately when the problem pops up, steering and brakes remained unaffected. 2013... Got a 2017 FFE two days ago, I've had the SSN problem twice now. Not sure what the next step is, particularly since it's so soon after getting it. I've contacted the dealership so I'll see what they say. | |||||

| CAFE standards set a baseline. Manufacturers are not required to go beyond that. But they do anyway. Why? Because people demand it now. There is a MPG competition amongst manufacturers to win more customers. Mostly people worry about how volatile fuel prices are. It's not a stretch to imagine that the next geopolitical event could rock global markets so much that gasoline becomes a luxury. That's right. The combustion engine have run out of optimization. But that's a constraint of that particular technology, not of what humans are able to devise. The DOT doesn't care HOW you improve efficiency, just that you do. Europe is already far ahead, mostly due to the high prices they've had there for a long time now. They are a glimpse of what lies ahead for N.America. There was no money in it back then. They were just a novelty. Electric cars have only recently hit the maintstream. Now that they're trendy and desirable , we will see rapid development. Even industry (for example mining) is using electric vehicles now. Batteries are entering a lot of markets that didn't see them before. Heavy duty tools like jackhammers, 14" metal and concrete saws, coring drills and AC generators. | |||||

| try it, but it may not have enough room for the brakes or other steering/suspension components. Use a tire size calculator to make sure the final diameter matches what you have now. You should learn not to hit curbs. | |||||
