| Looking to buy 73 Lincoln Mark 4 from dealer | 32Relevance | 2 years ago | Dale9994 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I am interested in making an hour long drive to a dealer to see a 73 Lincoln Mark 4 which they have advertised as having about 22100 miles. The advert says '72, but the VIN and photo of the out-of-state title states that it is a '73 with in excess of 100,000 miles "exceeds mechanical limitation". VIN 3Y89A924557. While I am not too concerned about the odometer, I would like to use this as a bargaining tool for the final price. Basically, for this particular model and year, does anything stand out to you which may be a problem area on this car? The 460 V8 sho ... | |||||
| Answer to: Lincoln town car vs Toyota?? | 31Relevance | 6 years ago | RetOldPro | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Love em. 2003-2011 Lincoln town car. One of the vehicles built on the old Ford Panther platform, body-on-frame construction, rear-wheel drive, 4.6L V8 engine 4 speed transmission. It's a big 4-door sedan, about 224 HP so it's not a race car, weighs about 2 tons so it corners OK but not great, but it has that super-reliable engine/transmission combination, and the things are made like tanks. But you wouldn't be sitting on a tank seat, instead they are very well appointed, almost plush, with good features for the time they were made. Nice styling, many were ... | |||||

| Within the 2 models you mentioned, 1st Choice Lincoln TC, 2nd choice Mercury Grand Marquis. Between the two, there are notable differences in styling and occupant comfort. Generally, Ford Crown Victoria, which shares the same basic drivetrain, was built primarily for use as a taxi. Some were also built for law enforcement use, with very, very few being built for the fleet or family markets. Generally, the majority of Mercury Grand Marquis and Lincoln town car production was intended for completely different markets, the fleet and family markets. Also, many ... | |||||

| Issues with buying low mileage older car, such as 2010 Lincoln Town Car | 27Relevance | 5 years ago | Ted Nerf | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi Scotty, I watch your videos daily. Keep up the great work. I really like the Lincoln town car, and I am looking for a 2009-2011 with low miles. When I was a kid in the 70s I was told that you can't buy an older car that an old person drove just a few thousand miles a year, then start driving it like a "normal" car 12-15K miles per year, which would include driving on the expressway up to 75 or 80 mph, etc. Is that still the case with these Ford Panther cars? I know you like these for longevity. Currently looking at a 2010 with 80k miles. Thanks, ... | |||||

| Hey Scotty, I'm looking at a 2003 Lincoln town car with 155,000 miles. It has already had the air to coil spring suspension conversion done which is why I am interested. It was driven by an old man for all 17 years and has documentation of changing the oil every 3,000 miles. Would this make a good first car? Will it be reliable for years to come? Would I be better of with a Camry or Accord? Thanks! | |||||

| Hello scotty hope you’re doing well. so I drive a 2006 Lincoln town car 4.6L V8 engine. A few days ago, I was inside my car parked during my lunch break with the ac on low. Then I noticed the coolant light was on in my dashboard. And the gauge was getting close to the H. So my car was beginning to overheat. The radiator fan turned on as well. This was going on for about a minute. Then I immediately turned off my car. Luckily, there was a walmart in front of me so i bought antifreeze and poured some in my reservoir. I waited a couple minuted and turned my car ... | |||||

| I have a 1997 Lincoln town car executive with 63k miles. It has the 4.6l V8, automatic transmission, RWD. I got it with 41k last July. When I accelerate it’s rumbles under the car as if you were driving on the highway shoulder. It’s does that for like 2 seconds and stops. But if you accelerate again, it does it again. It vibrates at any speed only when accelerating. But it does it when I give it a good load. When you are at a constant speed the car drives like it’s supposed to; no matter if I’m going 30 mph or 80. What can it be?? i checked the wheels the ... | |||||

| Hello! I have a 1999 Lincoln town car cartier with about 93,000 miles on the odometer and an automatic transmission. The fluid in the tranny has never been changed, as far as I know. Should I change it or does it have too many miles on it already? The car was my Grandfather's and has always been babied. The transmission still shifts very smoothly. Thanks for any help you can give me. P.S. The car sat for several years without hardly going anywhere after my Grandfather’s passing, but has been in regular use again for the last couple years.
