| Get the 2004 ls430. Great looking car in my opinion. It has the perfect balance of electronics not too many where the electronics will cause many problems down the road and high repair bills. And those engine were rock solid. Also nice interior and you can pick one up will 100k miles or less within your 8000 dollar budget. | |||||

| Lexus LS 430 smoking | 15Relevance | 5 years ago | MKX07floch | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hello, I recently bought a lexus ls430 with 113k miles on it and while I have the service records on it its turning out to be a bit of a lemon. Anyway I notice a small amount of thin light-ish smoke rising up near the upper left-hand side of the engine (assuming I am standing in front of the car facing towards it). The smoke smells differently than my exhaust which has no smoke. I cant see anything wet nearby. I don't know if this is related to my radiator which is leaking at the moment, but the coolant is dripping very slowly and the level is decent. The dr ... | |||||

| Answer to: 2006 Lexus LS430 60,000 miles for $17,000 a good buy? | 13Relevance | 2 years ago | nlord | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| My boss used to have one of those that I would drive on occasion, wonderful driving car! Florida can be a great place to buy cars, especially if it was owned by an older person, which many of those are, especially in Florida. Follow Scotty's direction, and make sure to check it for signs of being flooded. I will say that 17k seems awfully high for a 18 year old car. | |||||

| Well numeral Uno I wouldn't believe the mileage unless there was absolute positive proof of an entire paper. Trail of insurance documents, repair bills, oil change information, inspection information before I believe that's actual mileage. If it was, it could be a really good car. If you found a good mechanic to check it out. Someone who has nothing to do with the actual selling of the vehicle | |||||

| The last thing in the world you need to do for a 20-year-old car is paying inflated dealer service prices. You need to find a good independent mechanic. There are some mechanic referrals in the FAQ, but unfortunately none in Connecticut. | |||||
| Answer to: 2005 Lexus LS430 maintenance | 13Relevance | 3 years ago | Chuck Tobias | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| It sounds like you basically did OK, but the time to have a used car inspected is BEFORE purchase, not afterwards. Follow the maintenance schedule in the owner's manual. It would be best to find a good independent mechanic to find and do any work required. Dealers and chain shops are very prone to ripping off their customers, and dealerships are always the most expensive option. | |||||

| My Boss used to have one that I drove now and then, sure did drive nice. Big bumps that I would really feel in my old 4Runner, that LS would just glide over. As was mentioned by @jdavidm it is 20 years old, proceed with caution. | |||||
