| I found a 1989 Chevy G20 van on Facebook marketplace, it was listed for $1000, however I got the price brought down to $600 due to her needing it gone. This van is equipped with a 350 small block V8, automatic transmission, and reads 340,000 km on the dash. It also has it's typical rust spots. She said it was parked for the last year and a half. Only issue she said it had was the serpentine belt made a noise. I'm not to familiar with Chevy vans, is this a bad buy, should I keep looking? Are these vans even worth it? | |||||
| Chevy Van cuts off in hot weather | 22Relevance | 4 years ago | 95chevyg20 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I have a 1995 G20 van. I got it two years ago with 60K and it is a wonderful van except for when the outside temp gets to be over about 87 degrees. And it just shutters a bit and cuts off. It starts up again, but if I’m not on the gas, it will shutter and cut off again. it’s my work van and it’s nerve wracking to have to pop it in neutral and crank it while driving down the road. I’ve had three mechanics look at it and test the fuel pump, but they say it’s ok. I’ve posted on Chevy forums and no one have a clue what the issue could be, no codes, no other ... | |||||

| ... he's in Rhode Island visiting family. 1. I'm considering purchasing a small compact cargo van. I'm considering a 2019 and newer Nissan NV200 or a 2019 and newer Ford Transit Connect. Although I'm a loyal Toyota and Honda fan, my options are very limited and these small cargo vans are great for my needs despite their reliability is so poor. I plan on bringing any vehicle I find to you to be inspected and maintained. Do you feel both are poor considerations and which of the 2 have a more reliable engine and transmission? I would look at something else. If ... | |||||

| Hi. I have a 2006 e250 van with the 4.6 and it has 199000 miles on it. It seems like I have 2 different problems. It feels like there is a skip or misfire down low rpm and also seems like the torque converter is shuttering around 45 mhp. It has no codes. I had someone put a scanner on it and he said no codes for misfire comes up. I had a guy test drive it from a transmission shop and he said there is a skip and get the skip fixed then have him drive it again. I will pay you whatever reasonable price you want to diagnose or fix it. I live in Johnston Rhode Is ... | |||||
| Purchase ex-postal van? | 22Relevance | 4 years ago | Petefromboston | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I hope all is well. I have found myself at the vehicle buying process again and I am not sure who else to reach out to. I need a reliable enough work van and I am looking at a super low mileage 2008 Dodge C/V tradesman mini cargo van. It has 37k and some change for miles, it was an ex-postal van and the asking price for it is $5888. The carfax has 10 service history records and 20 detailed records one reported accident in 2012. It drives and shifts smoothly, it will need new tires, but I feel it will do what I need it to do. I looked under the vehicle and n ... | |||||

| Answer to: I lost a van to an oil leak, I need help scotty. | 17Relevance | 5 years ago | Mod_Man | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| You need to find a good mechanic to go over the van, front to back. And DON'T go back to the mechanic to who told you synthetic oil is thicker than conventional.....its not. It is actually thinner, in fact. With high mileage, if the van has been running conventional oil, keep using conventional. Swapping to synthetic will find every worn gasket you have and create oil leaks as the thinner oil finds it's way around the worn rubber seals. For the other items, I'd find a good mechanic to check it out in person. | |||||

| ... one after inheriting a vehicle with considerably lower mileage. Shortly after my acquisition I traded the vehicle in for a Honda Odyssey. The vehicle was nice, but it wasn't a true van, so I ended up trading it in for a low mileage (4,300) 2019 Mercede-Benz (MB) Metris van. I don't consider the Metris design to be as good as the Astro, but it runs well and affords me the interior space I expect of a true van. After viewing your videos on the quality of MB, should I worry about maintenance expense similar to what high end MB purchasers experience? Keeping my ... | |||||

| Scotty I am in the market for a new sprinter van and I want to know of the 3 engines 1 turbocharged 4 cyl direct injection gasoline or a 2 l 4 cyl turbo diesel or a 3 l v6 turbodiesel which of the three engines would be best and should I bother with 4x4 for a van this size. I live in Canada and the winters can make driving a challenge but I have always driven a rwd truck or car and am pretty good at not getting stuck. I'm leaning towards the 4cyl rwd 2l diesel configuration but I wanted your opinion on it. And if you would even buy a Mercedes van to begin wi ... | |||||

| Hi Scotty, I just placed the order for my new work van. Is a fort transit limited 2.0 ecoboost 4 cylinder diesel with 170 hp 6 speed automatic. That is the best money can buy as a new van in the UK right now, without going crazy on the budget. Ford services every 20000 miles, i do not agree. My ideea: 1000 miles - end of brake in engine - engine, gearbox, rear dif oil change 7000 miles and every 7k to follow - engine oil change, injector purge, valve spray clean 60k - all oils again, glow plugs, 70k miles - wet belt timing kit to be replaced by m ... | |||||

| ... 350cid V8 with 2 cylinderers cut off the end, offered plenty of power. They were versatile in how they could be configured. You could have a nice passenger van, a bare cargo van or a combination of both or a loaded conversion camper. To me, they were the perfect size- more economical than full size van and a bit more sturdy than front wheel drive unibody vans. The later models had available rear 'dutch' doors, the top half opened upwards and the lower half split in the middle and 2 doors opened outward. The negatives of buying an Astro nowdays were a ... | |||||
