Hello i have a 2000 Nissan Xterra with 240k miles automatic transmission. My problem is that when i run the A/C for a period of time my vehicle starts to feel sluggish and the needle on the temp gauge starts to go up a bit from the middle. I live in Las Vegas so the temp here is crazy hot in summer. I have replaced the thermostat, water pump, and i have also flushed out the cooling system as well which helped a ton but still a problem. One other thing is the transmission shifts a little funny when its hot like long shifts. The fluid for the tranny isnt really red anymore its never been serviced i supposed should i drain and put new fluid?!
I would check your temperature readings at the upper and lower radiator hoses as well as the inlet and outlet of the heater core to check for a restriction. When warmed up the hoses should not have a drastic difference
