Hey Scotty and friends!

I have a 2000 4Runner, automatic RWD with 287,000 miles. A few months ago, I noticed that when I was driving at highway speeds and dropped my foot off the gas, I felt and heard a transmission vibration/grumble. Fast forward to a week ago, when all of a sudden, when I’m driving roughly between 1,500-2,000 RPM, whether it’s at high speeds or low speeds, my whole car shudders, especially the shifter, and I feel and hear it. I’ve attached a YouTube video to give some extra clarification of the sound and shudder. Thanks for the help!

Normal wear on these after almost 300k miles. It will probably do this for another 200k miles before the torque converter or transmission needs replaced.

Also just check the motor and transmission mounts. If you put the car in gear with your foot fully on the brakes have someone stand outside and looking at the motor to see if there is any flexing while putting it in gear. You can apply a little gas to build the torque up and see if it twists. Just keep your foot on the brakes.
