Let’s try this question again lol.
Hey Scotty! Huge fan of the channel, and fairly new to working/learning on cars. As stated in the topic. About 2 years ago now I bought a 2002 Chevy Tahoe LS with the 5.3L V8. At the time of purchase it had 300k miles on it. Now, it runs great, obviously needs a few things here and there. And since owning it I’ve only had to replace the fuel pump (stock!) and the water pump (stock!) so nothing terrible for a 20 year old beast! Now, I’ve seen your review on the this specific Tahoe. And you seem to be a fan of this year/make/model/transmission/Generation.
Now to my questions. I’ve heard you mention changing ATF. But it left me confused. I don’t have a history of the previous owner(s) maintenance records, and am wondering if it’s something I should do as a preventative measure, even though it still runs/drives/shifts really smooth. And the car is now up to 331161 miles.
and my next question. I’ve seen your videos on engine cleaners. Now since I’m not sure how much build up may or may not be in my block/heads. Would it be wise to invest and install one of those Oil Catch Can filters when I run a cleaner? Just to catch and potentially prevent gunking up any other parts and systems?
I apologize for the long winded question(s). Just want to give as much info as possible while asking! And keep up the amazing work! 💪🏼❤️
you don't need a catch can, and take a look at the Frequently Asked Questions topic about your transmission
