Hey Scotty!

Hope you're doing well. My 2005 nissan quest has 80 000  miles it, and I'm afraid the transmission is dying. When I start it on the morning and put it into drive it take very long to engage, even like 20 seconds. If leave it warm up for around 5 minutes it gets a little better. During the rest of the day it engages quicly however I feel it's shifting late when driving. Is it something that can be done, or do I just run it until it dies?

Also it has a horrible squeaky noise after starting it and the AC being turned on, it goes after some seconds. I think this is common issue on this vehicules

Thank you. I really appreciete all your advices, greetings from Mexico!

Those older quests it was somewhat common for valve body concerns causing delayed or late engagement of gears. Otherwise I would check fluid level and condition. The noise sounds like possibly your drive belt being loose or worn

Thank you, will check on that

Possibly the transmission is most likely to go out. Usually the Nissans only last around 100,000 to 150,000 miles.

Thank you!
