2006 CRV Headlights

I gave my daughter my CRV several years ago. Still running ok at +230k miles. Except headlight recently started blowing every 30-60 days or so. This has been going on for about a year now--probably more. I'm buying good bulbs, use gloves, dielectric grease too. I've read some forums and I heard maybe a battery spike. Maybe a connector in the steering column. I'm going to check the relays, but I kind of doubt that's the issue.

Any thoughts?

It could be the socket/connector if it's the same headlight each time.
Loose connections can cause bulbs to pop.

If it's always the same one I would make sure the bulb isn't getting wet. Some of the plastic headlight housing's seals/seams become compromised over time. Many plastic headlight assemblies have vents and if they become clogged condensation can form on the inside. Maybe it's something like that.

And they've always said touching the new bulb with your fingers leaves skin oil residue behind that will cause the bulb to burn out prematurely.
