2008 Audi S5 Intake Issue

Hi Scotty,

Just want to start by saying I love your videos and hope they keep coming! I'm from Utah and I show all of my friends your videos, even just to get a few laughs out of them if anything.

I got a new, well new to me, Audi S5, manual transmission, V8 GDI engine, with 95,000 miles on it. I have two consistent codes on it: P2014 and P2006, related to the runner valves on the intake manifold. I should also say that I have already had a carbon clean done on the intake valves.

Backstory: I took the car into the dealership for a couple of recalls, not related, but I asked their opinion on the issue above. They said I need to replace the entire manifold and quoted me 4,600 for parts and labor... (Including $95 to replace a <expletive removed> blinker lightbulb).

What would you suggest trying?

Thanks,

Braden J. (VazerOG)

Well I say never buy an Audi in the first place because they're endless money pits but if the thing runs good enough you could live with it it's just the runners on the Intex that increase power and increase gas mileage when they're in the opposite direction. All those Audis are endless money pits as they age you should not have bought the car

If you intend to hold onto the car, try to find yourself an honest independent Audi mechanic.

Still, be prepared to pay through the nose for even the most simplest of repairs.
