2009 VW CC ECM Replacement

Bought a VW CC and within the first few hours it wouldn't start. After a few minutes I tried again and it started and ran fine. It continued to do this the next couple of days. I connected it to a diagnostic tool and it gave me a code for a bad ECM and MAF sensor and incorrect battery installed. I ordered a refurbished ECM that will be ready to be installed. Will I be able to install it or will I have to get it done by a VW specialist?

Start simple, did you verify the correct battery is in the vehicle?

The vehicle looks to have a battery that is not correct. I will but the correct one to see if that makes it work. Thanks for the suggestion!

Scotty, Thank you for answer my question and for all the great videos on You tube that make my work so much easier! I think I got scammed by Flagship one on selling me a refurbished ready to plug in ECM. Do you have any recommendations? I can't afford a new one right now.

Oh you'll have to pay a Volkswagen guy on that one cuz there's no way they can program it to work with your key if they don't have your key. It would not start without having all that programming done. And truthfully I would question whether the thing that even been programmed correctly for my experience with guys selling used or rebuilt Volkswagen ecms
