[Solved] 2011 Scion TC A/C problem

I've recently noticed that my AC on my 2011 Scion TC (123k miles) isn't as cold or blowing much cold air when I crank it up.

I recently took it to a auto shop to do a A/C diagnostic and a overall inspection of the vehicle to ensure nothing else needed attention.

After they checked the vehicle they said that I would need to "Remove and replace the A/C compressor, receiver dryer or accumulator, and expansion valve or orifice tube as well as o-rings and seals"  as they found that the "System Freon level is within specs. The variable displacement compressor swash plate is sticking may be coming apart. It is recommended to replace the compressor as a kit with the condenser. The air flow seems ok I don't see any issue with the fan speed", these words came from their report on the A/C diagnostics.

They wanted to charge me roughly $2.5K for the parts and labor as they said that the compressor kit was "expensive" which I checked for myself and they were starting at around $800 from the dealer and a Denso OE compressor for more but I found some non-OEM kits that included the compressor and the condenser for roughly 1/2 the price of the dealer compressor.

My question is if I were to have this issue taken care of, should I go for the OEM parts or go for aftermarket parts?

I'm not too pressed to have this issue fixed immediately as I have at least a month or 2 before it really starts to get hot here in Texas. With my commute down the highway I can just roll my windows down and be fine with it.

Thankfully aside from some rear light bulbs that needed to be replaced there were no other issues found, the battery was good, engine air filter good, fluid levels good, under body looked good, no trouble codes found.

I would take the car to another shop for second opinion before doing anything else.
