Hey Scotty!, I've got a 2019 Subaru Ascent with a cvt and on 27th of April I took my car for its 30000 mile oil change, they mentioned they will change the oil, the oil filter, and the engine air filter. I had to wait for 3 hours in the waiting room, and when i got home I was curious whether they changed the Engine Air filter and when  I checked it, guess what, it isnt. They charged me 50 dollars for it and left me with a dirty black engine air filter. I just wanted to let you know about this and everyone watching your youtube videos. I would appreciate it if you could mention this in one of your videos. The dealership name is Don Mealey Sport Subaru in orlando florida.
Thanks!

Thanks for letting the forum know to avoid this stealership!

Sorry I meant 25 dollars not 50.

It’s a good think you checked at least.  Whenever I take my car in for work at my local, independent mechanic I always double check the work after he is done.  I rarely find any issues since he is very good, but it can’t hurt to always check.  Let’s hope the dealer in your case changed the engine oil and filter at least - did you check that?

I would take it back to them, along with your receipt, and tell them what you found. Odds are the tech forgot to swap it. Accidents happen, particularly on Saturdays if that's when you went. They should replace the filter for you no problem if they have any kind of customer service.

Thank you Mod_Man, I had contacted the dealer and they did say that they were out of stock and forgot to change them. They were kind enough to come to my house and physically change it for me. This was just a minor issue but they took care of it really good. Pardon my mistake of accusing them.

That's ok. Thanks for posting the update. It is unfortunate when these things happen, but sometimes it is honest human error. I'm glad they took care of you on it. I always advise people to at least give the dealer/shop a chance to make it right. Now if they don't own up and make it right, absolutely, let everyone you know know about it. I'm glad you wound up happy in the end.
