Hey,
I recently started having issues with my steering wheel shaking when I hit the brakes at 45mph or higher. I called my Hyundai dealer to see if it was covered under warranty and they told me the diagnostic fee would be $250 to answer my question. Brake pads and rotors are covered for another 5 days as I bought it a year ago but if they decide it is my fault for some reason I am out of $250 or have to use them to fix the problem. Hyundai corporate says they have no control over what the dealers charge. How is it they say this car has a warranty when I have to gamble $250 for them to look at brake pads and rotors.
Thanks Derek
every warranty has terms and conditions. If it turns out the symptoms are due to manufacturing defects, you get your diagnostic fee back . If not, they fix it on your dime. It's pretty standard operating procedure. You'll probably want to read your warranty fine print.
Well it could be a number of things. You failed to mention your make, model, year, # of miles, transmission and engine type. If your vehicle is still under warranty I would call a different dealer and put on that gorilla suit.
