who is a good company to get for a rebuilt transmission my transmission has a clunk when downshifting and when put in reverse tsb says it is normal for lash in these transmissions

I would look at transmissions from Monster, Gearstar and TCI. These guys rebuild transmissions to super reliability standards that local outfits cannot match.
