This is probably a weird place to ask this question but I have a 1947 Farmall/International H that leaks transmission fluid. I am wondering if I can put AT205 Reseal in it to stop or slow the leak and how many ounces should be put in the transmission (capacity is 6 gallons). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I don't think in 1947 that seals were being made with the same materials as today, and a 75 year-old seal is likely to be in such poor condition that AT-205 wouldn't help in any event. (Even with much newer seals it is a temporary bandaid at best that may not work.)
If you wanted to give AT-205 a try it probably would not hurt anything, but it would be a fairly expensive experiment. An 8 oz. bottle of the stuff is supposed to treat 6 quarts of oil. So for 6 gallons you'd need to use 32 ounces, 4 bottles at about $20 per bottle.
