Last year, I bought a 2017 F-150, and the timing went out, so I rebuilt it. Now 3,000 miles later, the transmission is going out. I took it to the dealer and a shop, and they both quoted me 8k-10k to rebuild it or replace it.
The transmission is a ten-speed 10R80. Am I being scammed? What's a reasonable price I should aim for?
The truck also has 120k miles. With all these problems, I'm also debating whether or not I should just sell it.

Unfortunately, you're not. Those GM-Ford 10R80s have been a disaster since they came out. They're half-baked technological monstrosities and both Ford and GM should be ashamed of themselves for having released that transmission in the first place. Google 10R80 Recalls. You'll see what I mean.

I'm genuinely surprised you've made it so far.

It's not worth fixing, especially if you were to rebuild that thing. Ford didn't put it together correctly in the first place, some transmission shop will be even worse.
I warn everyone who buys new F-150s, Rangers and automatic transmission Mustangs with that transmission whenever they come here about the poor quality of it.
Personally, I'd probably sell it and get an older F-150. I have the generation earlier '14 F-150 with a 6-speed. That transmission was originally designed by ZF and Ford acquired a license to build it.
Good luck with whatever you choose.

sounds about right. That's problem with these trannies that have zillions of gears.
But the 10R80 is a lemon. Search our forum to see all the problems it has, or the web to see the lawsuits.

I would never have bought it. Nor any modern Ford.
