Hello all,
My grandfathers cannot drive anymore and his audi A3 sportback 2008/9? i think. Currently it just stays in the aparments garage.
i want to ask what are the best ways to keep the car in good condition as no one drives it.
(Before you say sell it i had said that several times and was shot down)
The car has 65k KM, its the 1.8 turbo gasoline engine, automatic 7 gear dual clutch (its the second engine due to the fact the oil wasn’t checked and the oil warning ignored)
The car is at its parking spot with a dead battery with the oil changed in February.
Is it better to leave it and cover it with a tarp with the battery dead or change it and ride it weekly?
Any other tips would be welcome.

I know my grandfathers is 96 and thats part of the reason its stuck there. Thats a common problem with my maternal family, you give them a car and they run it till the oil runs dry.
Bless him!
Also for a car that’s really fast I never saw him go more than 60mph, he drove painfully slow.

The latter.
First, thank you for the feedback.
Second, how long should I drive it in distance or time at minimum? Its too far away from any highways to do some driving there.
No worries. Take it for a spin around the block for around 20-30 minutes or so, every week. That should keep the battery charged sufficiently to not go flat, and should get the engine up to operating temperature to keep everything working normally. Realise that cars are made to be driven, so be prepared for some wacky faults, if left unused for weeks on end.
