I have a brand new 2024 Hyundai Palisade with a naturally aspirated V6 engine and a normal automatic gearbox, would you be interested in reviewing it?

I have a LIMITED Hyundai Palisade and honestly it was one of the only models I was able to find on the lot, available, without delivery or preorder, without a CVT and/or a turbo in the year 2023. I'd like an expert opinion overall and would be glad to drive to you.

Hi,

As our guide for contacting scotty ( https://carkiller.com/scottykilmer/qa/contact/) states:

for Scotty to review your vehicle you need to contact him via:

And make use a clear email subject like "Appointment Request" so that Scotty doesn't miss it.

I would love to see Scotty's opinion on that car!

With that being said, Hyundai-Kia's GDi engines are questionable.

And Hyundai-Kia's small 8 speed FWD/AWD gearbox still remains to be proven.

BTW, how's the second generation Smart Cruise Control?

I've had the first ten on a Kia Niro HEV and it was awesome.

Perhaps because it's a Hyundai priced almost like a similarly sized Lexus (the TX350) and significantly more than a Toyota of the same type...

Thanks Dan! I didn't even see the FAQ section. I emailed Scotty, we'll see what he says!

I am aware that these GDI engines could have issues, I did some research on that. Hyundai did send out an address in relation to the issue in Q4 of 2022, hopefully that was quick enough to take action for the 2024 model year builds. In any case, from what I've read these issues tend to present themselves within the 10 year/100k mile warranty period, and honestly I'm not even sure I'll keep the car that long at this point. But it's definitely something to keep an eye on!

I'm also aware of the gearbox, that's a large reason of why I went with the FWD model. I know that doesn't eliminate any possibility of issue, but I figure the less it has to do, the less chance of an issue occurring.

The second generation Smart Cruise Control is actually incredible. Don't get me wrong, it isn't without fault. I do wish they would make the "are you touching the wheel?" sensor along the entire steering wheel, not just in a couple of places. I also wish that there were more than the three different following distances of 'let's give enough space for the shuttle to land', 'could fit an 18 wheeler in between' and 'asking to rear end someone.' Other than those minor gripes though, it basically drives itself on the freeway. I get nervous in construction zones and in the downtown area where people weave in and out of traffic far too much, but anywhere outside of those zones it's a godsend. I travel from Louisville, KY to Nashville, TN and back once a week, so the less I have to manually drive myself there the better. Also, given a little time to get accustomed to the auto stop/start feature and you get to know little tricks to keep it from constantly shutting off and on to save wear.

As far as the Palisade being priced similarly to the TX and more than a Toyota, I'm not sure that's the case anymore. Perhaps it's just my area, but the TX is falling more in the 55-65k range while the Highlander and Grand Highlander are coming in at around 35-50k and 45-60k respectively (40k for the highlander for anything above the most base trim). I walked out after all fees and a ceramic coating for 55k on the Palisade, but it's also the second highest trim, you could get a more standard version for about the same as a standard Highlander.

I really appreciate the engagement!

What has your experience been with the two Kia Stonics that it appears you own?

See Scotty’s take here:  time and again he (and this forum) have warned against buying any Korean car.

.

And also this:

.

Also, good luck with Hyundai Motor Group standing by their products - many have complained about warranty denials from the company and/or dealer saying “that’s normal”.   Even with a warranty, who wants to deal with all that BS?  Hyundai/Kia warranties are not worth the paper they are printed on.
