torque specs for bolts after replacing thermostat

GM service info says:

Thermostat Housing Bolt (RPO L26) . . . .

. . . . . . . . . 25 N·m

. . . . . . . .18 lb ft

You shouldn't need to touch the alternator

We need to verify this. Mine says 10Nm

Wikipedia agree with you on the engine, though. I don't know.

GM is contradicting itself in its own documents

I thought you referred to the thermostat housing.  What all did you have to remove? You shouldn't have to remove the alternator.

I did refer to the thermostat housing and to get to the thermostat since it's under the Alternator the Alternator needed removed. Am putting a new thermostat in the 2009 Buick Lucerne CXL

Ok. Manual didn't mention removing the alternator.

So 10Nm for the thermostat housing.

Is that the only torque spec you need?

10Nm or simply snug tight.

So just snug tight on two the Thermostat housing bolts?

that's the spec for the 4.6L engine

We need to verify this. Mine says 10Nm

Anyway, I would just tighten it to 10 N-m, and then monitor it. If it seeps .... tighten it some more.
