Hello Scotty!

My 2003 Toyota Rav4 2.0 gasoline, manual tranny, AWD with 170.000km throws me back into my seat when im in first or second gear and i press the gas pedal very slightly; and when i release it the engine brake feels so powerful that in throws me into the steering wheel (*slight exageration might apply*). I also have the P0420 code, changed both O2 sensors but in vain, code is still there. I tried looking inside the O2 sensor with a borescope and the honeycomb looks very good

The car burns about 1/4 of oil between oil changes (each 8-10.000 km). What could cause such jerk?

Thanks to you uncle Scotty, im tenfold more interested in cars! Thanks!

Clean or replace your fuel injectors.

O2 sensors don't have honeycomb. You mean the catalytic converter?

the catalytic converter could be worn out. It doesn't matter if you can see honeycomb. Please read the P0420 page in our FAQ.

Start with cleaning the throttle body.

i did clean it well with carb cleaner but no improvements

You cannot use carb cleaner on throttle bodies. It's for carburetors. It leaves a film on the parts and messes up your MAF sensor. You have to use a dedicated, throttle body cleaner like CRC.

Check for proper operation and fluid in your clutch master cylinder and proper adjustment of the clutch pedal push rod.

i changed both master and slave clutch cylinders due to clutch pedal being stuck to the floor. i'm no expert but could it be caused by the air/fuel ration being off? I remember getting it scanned and the long fuel trim was like -15%
