Should wheel bearings be replaced every 100,000 miles?

I bought a set of rear wheel bearings for my 2010 Yaris because many say that you should change them out at least every 100,000 miles (or less) and it was at 148,000 at the time. It's now 150,300 and still have not changed them because I just couldn't get the dang thangs off! But I was wondering if it was really unnecessary since I'm not really hearing any noise and it seem to be rolling (by hand) just as good as the new one I also rolled by hand. So what do you think? I still have them in a box safe in the house.

When your current wheel bearings were interviewed earlier, here’s what they had to say -

Change wheel bearings when they start to hum/make noise.

Where did you get this "many say" junk?

Who is saying these things? I've never heard that in over 50 years of amateur wrenching. In old-school rear-drive American iron you might want to re-pack the front wheel bearings periodically but that's about it. (My daily driver has nearly 370K miles on its original wheel bearings and they're fine. Dang, now I've probably gone and jinxed it...)

100% confirmed jinxed!

That’s a long time. Your roads must be very straight and smooth

by the time you hear noise they are too far gone. You want to check the bearings for play. Just search for Scottys video: how to replace bearings

I personally have never heard of such an interval. It’s more of a as needed kinda thing.
