I have a 2005 honda accord over 185,000 miles, automatic transmission. I noticed it makes a loud whining noise when I start it up when it's cold. The noise doesn't change when I turn the wheel but quiets down as the gears change and engine warms up. It has always made a noticable whirring sound from the transmission since I've owned it. The fluid looks fine and doesn't smell burnt. There's no clunking or jerking shifting gears but It does delay shifts a little bit when it's cold. Do you have any idea what this could be and if it's something that needs immediate repair?
remove the fan belts if noise goes away it's something they drive but if it doesn't it's probably the transmission whining it as long as it works to live with it it cost a fortune to rebuild them and that would be bearings wearing out inside
