| Should I buy this Bentley | 11Relevance | 3 years ago | MakeGMGreatAgain | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| My old Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud has finally died on me after 300,000 strong miles. While I am still grieving I have been also in the market for a new car and found a 2005 Bentley Continental GT with 101,887 original miles for $19,550. I am not experienced with Bentley’s and would like to know if it is a good buy and how many more miles I can get out of it. Thanks! | |||||
| Lexus GS350 Steering Wheel Shake | 11Relevance | 3 years ago | amurr1991 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I have a 2014 Lexus GS350 F Sport AWD with 124K miles. Whenever the vehicle sits overnight, the steering wheel shakes above 60MPH. It only does it for a few miles, then it is as smooth as silk. What could cause this? No steering or suspension components are broken and I’m running Continental PureContact LS tires. | |||||
| Answer to: Should I buy OEM or Autozone timing belt kit | 11Relevance | 3 years ago | Chuck Tobias | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| On critical parts like that if you're trying to keep the car going as long as possible I'd stick with OEM or, if money is tight, at least a leading brand such as Continental or Gates. | |||||
| Answer to: Strange idling noise | 11Relevance | 3 years ago | Chuck Tobias | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Assuming that's the cause of the noise, a leading brand of fan belt (Gates, Dayco, Continental) for that vehicle costs around $25, give or take a few. Ditch the dealership and find a good local mechanic. | |||||
| Answer to: Fan belt squeals | 11Relevance | 3 years ago | Chuck Tobias | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| How old is the belt? Is it tight enough? If it's been replaced recently was it with a leading brand of belt like Continental or Goodyear etc.? It might be helpful to know what the pulley to the left of the belt is. (Alternator? Idler?) | |||||
| Answer to: Can I get bigger tires on my original 18 inch rims? | 11Relevance | 3 years ago | Dad2LM2 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I don’t think the sizes you list will fit. Maybe 255/65. Look at Discount Tire; they list alternate sizes that fit. But just going to a larger tire won’t necessarily give you longer tread life. And could have unintended consequences. Stock tires typically ride soft and cushy, but don’t have great tread wear. Going to a higher quality tire might accomplish your objective. I believe both the Michelin Defender LTX and Continental Terraincontact HT come in your size and should last quite a bit longer. Cheers! | |||||
| Can I get bigger tires on my original 18 inch rims? | 11Relevance | 3 years ago | TheTrellesDad | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Currently I’m due for new tires on my 2021 ascent Premium and it currently have from stock 245/60r18 Continental tires that I drove at 26,352 mileage. I’m from south Florida. Don’t want to get the same tire since it doesn’t seem to last long. I am looking at Yokohama Geolanders but noticed they sale them at a larger size. How much bigger can I go with the original rims? For example 265/60r18 or 265/55r18? Any suggestions? | |||||
| Answer to: Question about Toyota petrol fuel system cleaner | 11Relevance | 4 years ago | Kaizen | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Toyota the company (not Toyota dealers), may say it is part of basic maintenance, using some sort of fuel system cleaner if and only if you live in tropical or humid regions. It is not usually part of basic maintenance in the Continental United States or Europe, TMK. It’s usually dealer BS in these circumstances. Like others have said, you could get a bottle of Techron and do it yourself if you feel you needed to. | |||||
| Answer to: Serpentin Belt keep comin off | 11Relevance | 4 years ago | Chuck Tobias | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| If all the pulleys are good and aligned and the tensioner is good there may be some belt-driven accessory (such as alternator, power steering pump, water pump, AC compressor, whatever is there) putting a higher load on the belt system than it is designed for. Are the belts being installed OEM or at least from a leading brand like Goodyear or Continental? | |||||

| Answer to: (cheap) Tire recommendations? (for SUVs) | 11Relevance | 4 years ago | Dad2LM2 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Take a look on Tire Rack at Vredestein tires. A European (Dutch) brand with very high quality. They are selling them cheaper than competitors (mainly Continental, Michelin, and Pirelli) to get into the North American market. My daughter has them on her Crosstrek and they have been outstanding, especially in foul weather. Ditto Nokian. Finnish brand with same story. I don’t have first hand experience, but reviews are solid. Either of those brands will get you top tier quality at mid tier price. | |||||
| Answer to: Suspension recommendation for cushy ride | 11Relevance | 4 years ago | Dad2LM2 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| ... Agree with returning to stock height, if not an inch or 2 lower. And don't forget about wheels and tires. Off-road tires are pretty heavy and tend to rise rough (and unstable on pavement). Lighter weight wheels and high quality all-season tires (eg, Michelin Defender LTX; Continental TerrainContact HT) will improve your ride even if you don't change the suspension (though would look weird if you still have the lift). | |||||

| ... and jittery (no vibration) it can make me car sick driving it. I thought it was the aging Altimax 43's so I replaced them with Continental LX25's to make the ride better. No luck. Any idea what would be causing this? (CV's?). I'm thinking of getting rid of it next year as I won't drive it (let the wife and kids suffer). I drive the 2004 Hyundai XG350L I inherited from my dad when he passed. I need something that rides nice... | |||||

| ... used them, but they always captivated me as a second choice. I would guess though that their belts are good too. I really can’t say much about Continental. I’ve used their tires in the past, but never their belts. I haven’t heard anything bad about them. But I can’t rave about them either. | |||||
