| Answer to: Should I buy this Lexus | 9Relevance | 2 years ago | Chuck Tobias | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Although that model doesn't appear to have much in the way of serious failure trends, seeing as how that thing is 18 years old you're going to need a good mechanic go over it with a fine-toothed comb to determine whether it's any good. You'll also want to check into any outstanding recalls. For what it's worth the kbb.com site pegs the private party sale price of that vehicle at about $5500 (range of $4700-$6300). Their prices tend to be on the inflated side. | |||||

| There are substantial complexities ahead of you. If possible, get an SUV that has the "towing package" which usually includes things like transmission coolers. Electric trailer brakes can reduce white-knuckle stopping situations. This site has some of the key info: | |||||

| Mr. Scotty, There's a 2007 Lexus GS 350 near me for 15k (which I feel is absurd and I'm going to try to negotiate down) with 33k miles and from the pictures looks to be in pristine condition. Seller states it has passed Lexus multipoint inspection and is a clean title. kbb says $9,172-$10,846 in excellent condition and that's the range I'd try to offer. Could this be a good reliable daily driver to purchase? And should/when things fail will it be extremely expensive to repair as well as the routine maintenance? Or is it just too old and to just stay awa ... | |||||

| The kbb.com site pegs the "fair dealer price" for that car at about $12,000, and that's inflated. You cannot rely on Carfax for information on problems such as accidents or flooding since not everything is reported to them. | |||||
| RE: 4 Cylinder 2011 Toyota Tacoma or Update? | 9Relevance | 2 years ago | qhalliburton | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Thanks! 165k miles on the tacoma and 65k miles on the versa. If I sell the tacoma kbb says it could go in a private sale for about $7500 as is. The versa really has been great thus far but I'm not sure how they hold up approaching 100k miles, I change the oil regularly. The versa gets 36 mpg and the tacoma gets around 19 to 20 mpg. It sounds like everyone else is a fan of option C lol. I guess I wanted validation that I didn't need to buy a newer truck! Thank you! | |||||

| That is BS, and you know it. You can’t trust what any of those sources say. I have looked at actual prices of used EVs including Teslas on car selling sites like autotrader, kbb, even on BaT and they are pretty bad. It only makes sense as more and more are built, price cuts keep happening, demand slows, people don’t want to be stuck with first generation technology. Also, to be fair, most of these were overpriced to begin with so it’s just correcting in the used market..Anyways, I completely disagree. | |||||

| Avalons have been very reliable cars. According to KKB , a base model Avalon with 146k miles in good condition is worth at most $6000 retail. KKB receives their information from mostly dealer sales so its prices are often inflated. Always get a pre-purchase inspection done by a mechanic before buying any used vehicle. Have him thoroughly examine any car you're thinking of purchasing before you buy it. This will give you the best chance of avoiding any red flag issues. The bottom of the main page has a Used Car Buying Guide which should be helpful. | |||||

Previous owner was rear ended in parking lot, the accident was reported on Carfax and is listed as minor. Dealer swears damage was cosmetic (it's been fixed now). Is this a good deal? I can't find a kbb price because it's a 2024. Have BMWs reliability gotten better? Dealer says they have, seen some articles on the Internet say they have too but I don't know if I believe them. | ... or 5K miles) and a qualified mechanic of your choosing gives it the thumbs up following a thorough pre-purchase inspection, it could possibly be a great purchase even at the asking price. From what I have seen online for this vehicle it is in the ballpark of other GS price points of similar year and mileage. The Lexus GS 350 is a lot of automobile. The overall build quality, the quality of the interior materials, the composed, comfortable and quiet ride combined with the power and silky smooth running V-6 with the reliable 6 speed transmission is hard to ... | |||||

| Cool, if that's 'bull crap' - feel free to show proof, because I checked and NO.-I have took the time to validate your claim on AutoTrader looking at random zip codes. For example, in 95363 the cheapest 2017 sub-75k mile Model3 is 14% above kbb values, and this is the case for all zip codes I have checked.-So no, Teslas depreciate less than I even thought!!-The other claim of "First generation tech" is also obviously not true - it ain't no leaf or bolt. It's it's at the point where I do not see owners in 5-10 years saying "shoot! I wish I had X or Y!" regardles ... | |||||

| Age will depreciate a car even if the mileage is low. Take for example Scotty's wife's Lexus: he got it for 3k despite low mileage (60k) because it was older. Check sites like kbb. also compare the msrp when it was new to the price their offering. Definitely don't pay the 18k they're asking. if you can get it to like under 15k then maybe consider it. Screw it, low-ball the heck out of them. At least it's a dealer and they're not just gonna just go bye bye like a private seller. That Marquis will continue to serve you a long long time if you decide to keep i ... | |||||

| Answer to: VW ? | 9Relevance | 3 years ago | Chuck Tobias | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| The mileage is extremely suspicious (less than 2200 miles per year) and would need to be confirmed. A 12-year-old turbocharged VW is very likely to be a money pit. $20,000 is an insane price for it. For a few grand more you could buy a new Corolla. The kbb.com site, whose prices are inflated to begin with, pegs the dealer selling price of a 2012 Beetle turbo in good condition with 26K miles at about $12,000. | |||||
