| ... shift quality. I probably will be soon able to get my hands on a car with Hyundai built dual clutch to use as a long term vehicle and if I’ll find anything interesting I’ll make a post 👀 —— On the topic of Hyundai CVT transmissions: the current generation has been made only since 2019 so it’s really too early to have the exact precise information. There’s this great video (in Russian, I’ll link it in the comments) of a Hyundai built CVT transmission in a Kia completely disintegrating and locking up during a review. so far, the software is terr ... | |||||
| Answer to: Is 2021 Kia seltos good car ? | 15Relevance | 5 years ago | Whatchamacallit | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Also, see recall for Seltos: engine issues Point of Assembly and diligent maintenance (under ownership) do not make up for poor engineering/design. Reliability, longevity, durability all have to be engineered/designed in from the beginning. This is also the first year of a brand new generation, so there will be potential for growing pains. As such we advise to avoid first years of a new generation, as you don’t want to be a guinea pig for Kia: they are not even paying you to test for them. | |||||

| Believe it or not Kia tracked me down. I guess they watch Scotti's videos. Kia Motors Irvine sent out a notice to dealers to find out about the guy who found shrink wrap on his cabin filter in his brand new car. The dealer's service manager called me to ask if I was that pesky Mr Bob. He used a term I haven't heard in 40 years "Unmitigated Audacity". I sent him a picture of the filter wrapping with the Hyndia/Kia label still quite readable. I also gave him a list with dates of people from his dealership who I complained to about the lack of heat in December ... | |||||
| Answer to: 2021 Toyota Corolla LE vs 2021 Kia Forte LXS | 15Relevance | 5 years ago | Whatchamacallit | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Since you care about reliability and longevity, definitely go with the Toyota Corolla over the Kia Forte. Hyundai Motor Group products are not built as well as Toyota ones and especially in the last 11 or so years Hyundai has really gone downhill in quality/reliability - the pre-2010 ones could actually last longer than the more modern ones. Also, it may appear the Hyundai has the better warranty, but don’t be fooled. I have known countless friends, co-workers, family members who had a tough time getting good service at the Hyundai/Kia dealership (they do ... | |||||

| Hello everyone! This is my first Question / post, so here goes. I am deciding between buying a 2021 Toyota Corolla LE or 2021 Kia Forte LXS. The price difference is a few thousand more for the corolla. Both the Kia and Corolla come with a nice exterior and interior, with good legroom in the back, and tech features (Kia offers a little more in this category). Being this is my first car purchase I am really concerned with reliability and longevity of the car. Kia comes with a great warranty: 5 Basic Years / 60,000 Basic Miles 10 Drivetrain Years / 100 ... | |||||

| Mate, the trouble lies with your vehicle OEM. They’re notorious for building junk. The fact that you had to instal another transmission in your 6 yr old Kia, should have set alarm bells ringing in your head. Hyundai/Kia keep telling customers that engine & transmission trouble is normal, so good luck having your issue resolved by them. Here’s what I would do - since your wife works at Honda, try your best to trade it in there (or sell it yourself in the open market) and pick up a good used Civic/Corolla from the Honda dealership (with fat discounts). ... | |||||
| Answer to: 2021 Kia Sorento Accelerator Problem | 15Relevance | 5 years ago | MrBob | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Actually the Santa Fe has held up rather well. The Kia was recommended by several people so I test drove one and I liked it. It gets about 24 MPG and handles well. It replaced a 2008 Veracruz which also ran well and is still in service. The only reason I got rid of the veracruz was the V6 and it's poor gas mileage. I am priced out of the Toyota and Honda market. Even used they are way out of my league. The Kia dealers are the big problem in my area. Most are less than 5 years in business. The sales people don't know the cars and I always feel like I am talki ... | |||||

| ... that caused the check engine like to come on. I brought the car to another dealer and told them I wanted an inspection. I told them inspection is not due so if it fails leave the old sticker on the car. It will fail with a check engine light on and you want the certificate saying it fails. Then file a complaint with the department of motor vehicles and give them all the same story you just gave us. NYDMV got me a complete refund. I then let the second dealer fix the car. They found a sensor had been disconnected. Dealers quake in their boots when they hear ... | |||||

I live in Europe where Toyota are the actually built badly. Terrible CVTs (Since 2008-ish), 1ZZ engines blowing up (not 1ZR, look at how much issues the ZZ had), and Toyota hybrid systems come equipped on every car and those can go bad in 7-8 years (depending on climate - they can last more) As a whole 2008-2011 Toyota’s have terrible gearbox issues with the European spec ...

The newer ones are made in USA Mexico Georgia etc. and are pretty poorly made their engines have a tendency to blow up and the horrendous resale value doesn't kick in until the miles hit 60 70k miles so you most likely would overpay. I'd just get a couple year old Sienna. It would last 3 4 times the Kia would. Sedonas also cost like 6-8k for 2015 model years so make sur ...
| KIA Sonet - Engine mount broke over petty pothole | 15Relevance | 5 years ago | Burhan AHMED | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi Team Scotty Kilmer! Hope you are having an incredible new year, Today I am here to talk some more about why one should take the expert's (SK) advice and shy away from Hyundai/ Kia products 😂 . Dude just bought a Kia Sonet (compact SUV sold in India) on 20th December 2020 - 7 days later on 27th December while his father was driving the engine mount broke, leaving him stranded on the road. He says the car hit a small pothole and weird rattling sounds arose from the engine bay. Such a breakdown in a brand new car is simply unacceptable. Bringi ... | |||||

| Greetings from Slovakia! Since January I have been using an '07 Kia Picanto as my daily driver. It is my first car ( I am 19.) The previous owner, who I bought it from, didn't maintain the car at all. It looked like a dirty piece of junk once I saw it for the first time. The vehicle rode nicely, though. The man wanted to get to get rid of it ASAP (he had already bought a much larger vehicle, so this Kia had been sitting for over a year in his driveway. What I liked about the deal is that I got the car dirt cheap. However, since the car had been neglected ... | |||||

When my fuel gauge is showing empty, the actual fuel in my tank is about 40 L. The I put full tank of fuel. The gauge shows me 70% or less. Last year, i tried to fix this issue by replacing the whole fuel pump assembly, which is inside my fuel tank. I installed a 2nd hand whole fuel pump assembly, and it didn't fix the problem. | not surprising at all. Scotty has been telling people for ages. Nothing Kia does shocks me anymore. again, nothing new. Car dealers are often lying crooks. Always have been. As for this particular car ... who knows. Maybe it was a display model. Maybe it had issues that prevented it from being sold. Maybe it was waiting for a whole new engine, and Kia didn't have solution yet.

| I would also go with a Toyota Sequoia, Toyota Highlander or Toyota Sienna. The respective products by Honda are also good, but make sure you change your timing belt every 100k miles -they're interference engines, and if the belt breaks, pistons can hit the valves. Stay away from the Honda Odyssey. Kia/Hyundai products burn oil with their more recent products, and they don't care. One quart of oil per 1,000 miles is "normal", to the dealers, it's not normal. My 1999 Ranger has 292k miles on it, and it leaks or burns that much oil in 5,000 miles. Toyota Grand Highlanders are a new vehicle without a proven track record. Knowing Toyota, any problems with new products will end up being fixed. Toyota perfects their technology, unlike really anybody else. Lexus products are glorified Toyota products. Stay away from Mitsubishi products. Jatco makes those transmissions and they're starting to just badge engineer Renault vehicles. Also stay away from Nissan and Infiniti products. Those trannies are also crap made by Jatco. The only other SUV I might consider is the Mazda CX-90. | |||||
