| Weren't those problems noted when the car was checked out before purchase? Better pray it's just the PCV valve, otherwise you could be looking at a worn-out engine. Have you scanned for codes and checked live data for issues? Well, it's a 17-year-old Hyundai so there could be any number of problems. They weren't as bad back then as they are today but still age takes its toll. Start with the basics like filters, spark plugs, fuel pressure. If you have not done a diagnostic scan yet it would probably help to do that. Maybe also test for excessive back pressure due to a clogged catalytic converter since that can strangle your engine. | |||||

| ... got I'd suspect a short to power on the MAF signal wire . However, we're dealing with a hyundai here and like I said, they like to use identical connectors for different circuits/components . You had a lot of work done on that Tiburon and we can't ignore the possibility that somebody may have gotten the 3 pin connector that's supposed to be going to the MAF sensor, mixed up with the identical 3 pin connector that's going to your manual transmission . Just to illustrate, here's the 3 pin connector that goes on your manual transmission speed sensor . Notice h ... | |||||

| Hello! Rarely see ol' Scotty talking bout hyundai. I'm about to go see a Tiburon from the 97 with 200k miles and fairly cheap, would be my first car ever. What do you think about it? It has captive brake rotors which I know I would have to change at some point but other than that is there any reason I should not buy it or things to pay special attention to? It is also the version with the cool headlights. I don't really know how different it is from the base model. | |||||

| 01 Hyundai Tiburon intermittent fuel delivery. Help | 26Relevance | 5 years ago | Joeyv | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hello I have obtained a 2001 Tiburon from a relative. "Fix it it's yours" type deal. I discovered there was no fuel pump action happening, tested for power all came back as a faulty pump so I replaced the pump. New pump in and the car runs, everything appears to check out. However, heres where it gets confusing... Took it on a test drive, drives great except for two times in my 10m drive where the rpms dropped by about 1500 and then picked right back up. As if no fuel was present. Got it back to the relatives house, parked it. Tried to start it to move it. ... | |||||

| Hi Scotty, big fan of your videos. I have a 04 hyundai Tiburon GT V6 5 speed manual transmission. About 111,000 miles on it. I'm having a nightmare trying to get it running again. Bought it only for $2000.00 and yes it needed work. I was willing to put $2000.00 into it. Let's just say I went over my budget and mechanic I brought it too completely scammed me for a lot of money and left my car apart. I replaced TPS, idle air control valve, purge valve, pcv valve, fuel pressure regulator, fuel pump, fuel injectors, fuel injector connectors, two knock sensors, ... | |||||

| Which car to purchase and which to sell? | 18Relevance | 4 years ago | FJCruiser2014 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hoping on getting some opinions as I've been thinking about this for a while and would love some thoughts/opinions from other people. I currently have a 2022 Civic Sedan Sport and a 2022 Civic Sedan Touring. I need a suv (small to mid size). I've been thinking of the new Corolla Cross, but also heard recently that they're going to offer a hybrid version for 2023. I live in WA State so those who know can imagine how much I pay for gas each time I fill up any car. So if anyone has opinions on which Civic to keep and also on which Corolla Cross option I would appreciate it. | |||||
