| Answer to: 2014 Mazda CX-5 opinions | 15Relevance | 5 years ago | GenMaster | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I have an update. The Honda's motor was no good. It had Oil dilution. there was gas in the oil. What a shame. Ended up with a 2014 Mazda CX-5. 100k miles and could not find anything wrong with it. Any opinions on the Mazda CX-5? I could use some opinions. | |||||

| @rockstarnick See these are all different opinions. And that is great to have on a forum like this. What's the point of having a forum that only praises car brands like Toyota and Honda because of Scotty's hype and bashes on others like BMW and Mercedes? It's great to share our opinions. | |||||

| @mod_man Ford quality is crap. Well said. People here are usually going off Scotty's opinions and not their own. For example, just because Scotty says BMW is a money pit or a Dodge is a rolling pile of junk doesn't always hold true and varies from person to person. I try to stay unbiased and strictly use my experience, not other people's opinions. | |||||

| 2014 is a good year for Mazda. In 2015, they had a partnership with Toyota, and in the 2014-2017 years they had their own powertrain and proven to be reliable, and didn't have turbos or cylinder deativation. Not as good as lets say a Toyota, but still a good crossover. The 2.5 engine is also good because it isn't as sluggish as the 2.0. Here is what Scotty thinks: (BTW they are two different videos even though he used the same thumbnail) Also about the video Day Walker put above, its outdated. Scotty's opinions have changed rapidly in the last year or so as the newer Mazdas are improving. Scotty is refering to the Mazdas of the time of Ford 8 10 15 years ago, as that was what he was working on at the time. Now, you can find his opinions in the above videos, and I see him commonly refer to Mazdas as "good cars" and "excellent choices" etc. Here is what Scotty said in 2019: "Lately my customers with Mazdas they've been reasonably happy with their vehicles and they are pretty dependable" He ranked it 3rd in the best car brands after Toyota Honda (if you don't count Ford as he wasn't refering to their cars) | |||||

| Ford F-150 Belt-driven oil pump (2.7L and V8) | 15Relevance | 2 years ago | Ahmad Tarik | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| ... interval. I can imagine that the belt can last 200k miles or over 10 years with all the heat inside the engine. However, I read that the replacement cost for this belt is over $5.5k because it requires tearing down the front of the engine to replace it. I saw a YouTuber on the "Ido Cars" channel tear down a 2018 f150 2.7L engine with 96k miles and another one with 131k miles, and both engines showed cracks on the oil pump belt. My questions are: Is there any real-world data about the oil pump belt's lifespan (time or mileage)? Also, is it possible to rep ... | |||||
| Answer to: Why does the Ford F-150 sell so well? | 15Relevance | 3 years ago | nta98 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I think there's some brand loyalty. I mean the old f150's were super reliable, capable, and affordable. So some people are definitely drawn back for that reason. Id also like to see how many of those sales are just fleet vehicle's for big companies or municipalities. I know of some PD's in my area that have f150's in their fleet. They mostly have Explorers or Tahoes, but a few f150's. I also work for a big contracting company, we have all Fords here. My dads old company used alot of GM products so similar logic there too. Both companies offered empl ... | |||||
| 2022 Ford 150 Powerboost or 2022 Toyota Tundra iForce Max | 15Relevance | 4 years ago | TheCo | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| My question has to do with what is a better performing vehicle the f150 power boost(Hybrid) or the Toyota tundra iForce max (Hybrid)? I keep going back to the Toyota tundra and then I start thinking about the f150 power boost. My biggest concern is towing a travel trailer and getting the most mpg? additionally I am concerned about the price. I was looking to buy and wait for the Toyota tundra SX iForce max but that truck does not plan on coming out until the end of October at the very earliest. I need a truck within the next two weeks. The Ford f150 I can ... | |||||

| Hello, I currently have a 2010 f150 with 167k miles with the 4.6l engine and a 2007 Acura MDX with 160k miles. I am pulling a lightweight teardrop camper all the way to Yellowstone and I was wondering which issue is more serious. My Acura has a winding or spooling noise when making turns, which might have to do with the belt or power steering somehow. My f150 was in the shop recently and they wanted 3900 for a timing chain and fuel pump replacement. It does indeed have a slight ticking noise that goes away in around a minute in a cold start. The Acura seems ... | |||||

| ... run fine, but I need a new front end ($1200) and the frame has a lot of rattle. My mechanic said the frame is still fine and that the truck is cleaner than any other truck of that age he has seen. I came across a 2012 Tundra TRD Pro (double cab, 6.5 bed, 4.6v8, 4wd) that a dealership is selling wholesale. 182,000 miles, seems to run well (drives much better than my 2003 f150), has almost no rust, but it has cosmetic damage. It looks like they backed it into something. They want $12,900 for it. Without looking at it, my mechanic steered me away from it bec ... | |||||
| Answer to: Has Ford really gone down the drain? | 15Relevance | 5 years ago | USAFdozerpilot | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| This has been an issue since 2015. They are going cheap when coating them. I saw a 2020 f150 platinum on the showroom floor with the diff cover already covered on surface rust. My 2015 f150 5.0 had surface rust when I bought it but I love the truck and it’s performed well for me. Realize Ford is ditching combustion engine and going electric so their motors for transits and f150 and such the focus and funds just isn’t there anymore. The only newer Ford I’d drive for now is Super duty with a gas or diesel motor. ALL “US” manufacturers will follow and overall q ... | |||||

| With all due respect, the fact that you aren't certain that the 3.5 engine is an EcoBoost tells me how much you (don't) know about it. The reason for the hybrid (which is optional) on the 3.5 Eco motor is to recapture energy lost in start and stop driving, which enables the f150 with that setup to get 24 mpg city as well as highway. That is amazing fuel economy for a 4800 lb 4WD crew cab truck! The hybrid option makes no difference on the highway and is not intended to do much with towing. Even if it is possible with the f150 to just drive it on the elec ... | |||||
