| The gas gauge and dash lights in my Lincoln are no longer functional after sitting outside with a tarp on it during the winter for about 4 months, the gas gauge and dash/cluster lights run on the same fuse. I think it's highly unlikely both would just stop working for different reasons, considering when the car was parked all the cluster lights worked and the fuel gauge worked perfectly fine when the car was parked for the winter. So, my guess now is I just need to replace the #9 fuse, is there something I could still be missing or is it likely I've found the problem? | |||||

| This is a coil-over. It's suspension part: I think you mean ignition coil for a coil-on-plug system. If the problem is the injector, it would should up on a scope. If it was a valve seat, then it would show up on a compression test. A professional mechanic worth his salt should know how to troubleshoot a problem as basic and common as a misfire. | |||||

| $2500 cash at the most. The cool part is that it has a fwd copy of the cobra motor. 4 valve dohc 4.6L v8 with a healthy dose of hp and torque. Comfort is amazing and for its size, weight and peppy v8 engine, it is not bad on gas as other big v8 sedans. | |||||

| If it runs on starter fluid, then I'd look at the carburetor, especially the automatic choke. Carburetors that have sat for a while can be problematical - that this one been cleaned and had the gaskets and o-rings done? After 55 years, anything non-metallic is suspect. | |||||
