| Answer to: best and worst years of ford f150 | 14Relevance | 4 years ago | USAFdozerpilot | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| 2004-06 TERRIBLE 1990s GREAT YRS overall f150-F350 2015-17 LAST OVERALL GOOD YRS FOR BOTH f150-350 For the f150s 2015-17 I’m only talking about the 5.0. The Ecooops are a high risk high reward type of motor and most consumers don’t know how to take care of them properly and that’s why a lot have problems prematurely. | |||||
| Answer to: What should i choose as my first truck? 2020 Ford F150 XLT V8 5.0 or a Toyota Tundra. | 14Relevance | 4 years ago | USAFdozerpilot | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Ford has done nothing but taint and destroy the f150. I love my 2nd gen 5.0. The 6 speed has been ok, it’s a clunky shifter and it heats up easy but it does the job. The quality of everything else is a disaster. My passenger rear door latch prematurely broke, my blower motor makes a loud humming noise on cold mornings and doesn’t go away until the motor comes up to temp. I love the look and a few other things about the truck but I will never buy a f150 again. I’ll move up to the 3/4 ton Fords from now on. | |||||

| DO NOT buy a 2018 or newer f150 if you want longevity. The motor options are all terrible right now. The only things going for Ford are the 3/4 and up trucks. Get the Tundra if it’s between the 2. If you’re buying used get a 2013-17 f150 w/ 5.0 V8. | |||||

| Hey Scotty, I'm looking to see if anyone has experienced the same issue as me and has possibly figured out the cause/fix...I have a 2017 f150 xlt 5.0L. 4x4. With alittle over 62k miles on it. When lightly and moderatly accelerating (both cold & warm) I experience a ticking/ chattering sound between 2,000 - 2,800 RPM. It doesnt make any ticking sounds at idol or when heavy on the throttle. Its only under light throttle when accelerating betweem 2k - 3k RPM. I also notice that if i put it in manual mode, and in any gear i can hold the throttle betweem 2k- ... | |||||

| Which will last me a longer? A new F150 with the 5.0 or an F250 with the 6.2? | 14Relevance | 5 years ago | Bullnose351w | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Scotty, it's time to replace my 1985 F250 with 318,000 miles on it. Great truck, motor still runs strong, but everything else is finally breaking down more than it runs. Which is more likely to last me 30 years and still have parts available- The F250 with the 6.2 or the f150 with the 5.0? I'd be buying brand new, 2wd. The f150 has enough towing and hauling capacity for me, but the ride quality of the F250 doesn't bother me one bit. I don't really care about fuel economy as I only drive about 10,000 miles / year mostly around town. I just want it to last. ... | |||||
| f150 won't engage drive unless I blip throttle | 14Relevance | 5 years ago | CheapOldBastard | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| 2003 f150, 4wd, 5.4, 4r70w transmission, 132k miles, no codes, reverse is ok, fluid and filter changed a year ago. My f150 will not engage any forward gear unless I blip the throttle to 1800 rpm then it slams into first gear. The transmission shifts and drives normally after that, until I come to a stop then I have to blip the throttle again. The only other transmission issue I've had was about a year ago the column linkage was loose and would sometimes slip out of drive. | |||||

| If you want an F-150 from the current generation and want it to last as long as possible, stick to the 2015-2017 model years with the true and tried 2nd generation naturally aspirated 5.0L Coyote V8 mated to the 6-speed AT. Avoid the other power plants and the 10-speed AT (jury is out on longevity of that transmission). See below: | |||||
| f150 fuse relocation kit | 14Relevance | 5 years ago | Ronv11 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hi and thank you for reading my question. I have a 2014 f150. I have been reading online about fuse 27 ( fuel pump ) fuse blowing . ford has a Service Bulletin out on this (TSB 15-0137 ) and a relocation kit for the fuse . ( EL3Z-14293-A ) My f150 is running fine. My question is do you think I should put in the fuse relocation kit in my truck just as preventive maintenance ? or just let it alone, if it's not broke dont fix it ? | |||||

| Scotty, in about a year my lease is up and I want to buy my next vehicle. Should I buy a used 2019 f150 a brand new f150 or a brand new tundra? I have always lived by the rule of not buying a vehicle in the first year or two of a new generation but from everything I have heard about the tundra it really has me excited. What are your thoughts? | |||||

| Looking to buy a used f150 and I came across a 1995 f150 xlt. It has just north of 136K miles. The truck has been well cared for and is in very good shape. What can I expect buying an older truck like that? Am I better off to stick with something newer - say a 2009 or 2010? | |||||

| The Tundra is the better truck, no question. However, if you are just going to use it occassionally, I would consider saving the money and getting the f150 with a V8. Depends on what is important to you: longevity (Tundra) or price (F150). | |||||

| ... any shop for repair other than normal service oil change, tire rotation, etc. so I can understand why you like Toyota. Now I decided to change and wants to buy a new full size truck just because I love to have a big one like everybody. In your videos you talked positive about the f150 (best selling vehicle in the US) and Tundra (reliability). If you decided to buy a new truck for your self, which one you will buy (f150 or tundra) This is a very big investment for me and your opinion is very important to me. | |||||

| Hi Scotty, Big fanboy 🙂 I want to build a cabin on top of the back of a long bed truck to sell skincare products directly to customers. It will be a permanent structure with an approximate weight of 700lb. I will only drive city/highway in the NYC area, maybe 3-4k miles a year. I would like to spend max $7,000 on a long bed single cabin RWD truck. Would you go for a V6 RWD Tundra from 2005-2006 with 120-150k miles or a V6/V8 RWD f150? What f150 year/engine/transmission should I look for $7,000 max? Thanks in advance. Stan | |||||
