| The best thing she can do is not buy any Mini product. Just looking at their msrp prices there are much better cars for that kind of price. If she wants turbo and also manual get a Civic Si; the turbo engines on Honda are so much better. | |||||

| Well, I would buy neither and if I had to, I would probably go with the Mini and use it as a weekend toy (although I have seen people take very good care of them and they can go the distance as a daily) since the Saturn is a rolling pile of crap. Why don't you consider looking at a Miata or maybe an S2000 assuming you can find a good one and a decent price (they are getting expensive nowadays). You can also consider a 350z or 370z although good luck tryna find one cheap because they hold their value just like the Honda and Mazda. | |||||

| Definitely skip over the Mini. Regarding the Saturn Sky (Pontiac Solstice is its sister) see below: up to 100,000 miles, they are OK. But if you need it to go much past that, there are better vehicles out there. Tell us what you need exactly. | |||||

| Would you buy a 2005, Mini Cooper, convertible with 35,000 miles for $4,500. It’s a private, cash only deal. It’s a manual transmission and has a salvage title which the owner claims had minor front end damage. I’m very strapped for cash and really need a car. It could all be a big lie but if everything checks out, the price and millage maybe worth it. What do you think? | |||||

| Mini Coopers are BMWs powered by Citroën engines. They’re not particularly well built and don’t last much over 90,000 miles. All though they’re so cute and nice to drive – I wouldn’t recommend getting one. only get one if it’s new, you don’t drive much, and you don’t mind the depreciation. i mean if it’s a city car, that you’re going to use for a couple thousand miles a year, almost any car can do that well enough. If you’re European, get a used Citroën DS3. It’s the same engine and a similar experience but cheap to buy used and wayyyy cheaper to run. A Volvo C30 is also a fine alternative to a good small car. | |||||

| Dear Mr. Scotty, i have recently asked about my Mini smoking, it was because a bad piston ring that i didnt take care of, BUT after i fixed the car i started it and it worked perfectly fine for 2 hours, then i realised that the car was low on oil and the oil light came on, turned it if, added oil, started well for 20 minutes then it got a TERRIBLE misfire, it was only running on 2 cylinders i think then it shut off, i then went to try and start it, it runs very very rough for 2 or 3 seconds then dies, i tried when starting giving it gas but it felt that the ... | |||||

| Dear Mr. Scotty, my 2012 Mini Cooper s with 130k miles keeps on getting out of time, when I start the engine it runs for a little bit, then shuts down, each time i check i find it out of time, i then adjust its timing and works for a little bit then the engine shuts off and gets out of time again. I think that this has to do with the oil pressure, because when i run it with low oil it keeps running longer than with full amount of oil. Keep in mind that i have rebuild this engine before. | Hey Scotty! I watched your video about you saying not to buy Mini Coopers but i drove it once and it was just too much fun. So i bought a 2015 Mini Cooper S couple years ago it currently has 82,000 miles on it. The ac will sometimes blow cold air for like 15 then blow hot air. It repeats this cycle. What should i do? Also i change the oil every 5k miles. Should i change the transmission fluid? Thanks! | |||||
