| 1994 Dodge Dakota Intermittent Loss of Power | 18Relevance | 5 years ago | ParkerArbu | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hello! I recently purchased a 1994 Dodge Dakota with 78,000 miles on it. Everything seemingly works well, until it doesn’t. The issue is that when I was driving up a slight incline, I realized that it won’t go over 25mph. Put my foot into the throttle more, and it doesn’t go any faster. I can hear popping every few seconds, presumably a backfire, but not 100% sure. I took my foot off the throttle completely, and then put throttle into it again, and then it’s fine. when I get to where I was going, I turned it off and turned it back on. It’s fine for another ... | |||||
| 1994 Dodge Dakota lacks power | 18Relevance | 5 years ago | ParkerArbu | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hello! I have a 1994 Dodge Dakota with 78,000 miles on it, absolute creampuff, (2wd 3.9L v6) that has a super odd issue. Intermittently, my truck will lose power. It seems like if I put more pressure onto the throttle, the more power I lose. This happens in super odd intervals, too. Sometimes it happens three miles after the previous time, but other times, it happens one hundred miles after the previous time. I'm not 100 percent sure, but one time that it happened, I pulled into a parking lot just to see what would happened if I floored it, and I thought th ... | |||||

| Sure, I can give you a great review on that truck. My best friend had a 2001 Dakota Sport with the 3.9L Magnum. Pros: 1. It went for 500k miles on the original motor 2. The design was pretty nice inside and out 3. Enough power for work duty. He is a car wash technician so heavy fans, chemicals, etc. were always loaded into the bed and no problem 4. Decent MPG Cons: 1. Dodge build quality. The interior literally deteriorated as it aged 2. It went through three transmissions in a quest for that mileage 3. It always had an oil leak, coolant leak.... ... | |||||
| 1999 Dodge Dakota shaking like a maraca when letting off the clutch | 18Relevance | 6 years ago | Greasegorillaz8968 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hey Scotty! I have a 1999 dodge Dakota sport 2.5L four cylinder, with a 5 speed transmission. I’ve driven the truck for about a year now. It’s a very reliable truck, but hear lately the truck shakes like a maraca when letting off the clutch. Only when it has a lot of weight in the back and at running temperature. The clutch also has a lot of play in it. The clutch disengages when it’s pressed in an inch 🤣 🤣 | |||||

| So I have a 2002 dodge Dakota with 213,000 miles.4x4 automatic. And the battery was being drained while driving it. So I had to replace the battery and the alternator checked and it was good. So after I replaced the battery it was good for a couple hours then I hit the gas decently hard and the battery gauge started dropping and the gauge won’t go back up at all. It just keeps draining. Please help me. | |||||

| 1997 Dakota 90,000 miles for $1600? | 18Relevance | 6 years ago | NewEnglander | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Scotty was wondering your thoughts on the 1997 Dodge Dakota. I was planning on looking at one, 90k miles, sport 2wd, regular cab. Guy wants $1600. The quater panels have rust above the wheels, but apparently everything else is good. I know you aren't a Chrysler fan, but are these tolerable or are they garbage? Thanks and watch your videos daily! | |||||

| I have an automatic 2006 dodge Dakota with 194k miles and it has a tick, the guy said it has new rod bearings piston rings and a bunch more other stuff but it has a tick that gets quiet when it shifts into second and I was wondering if it could possibly be an exaust manifold leak and how many more miles I could gout out of it | |||||
| How Do I Fix 2005 Dodge Dakota St 4x4 3.6l V6 Transmission | 18Relevance | 6 years ago | Brianc 3920 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I bought a 2005 Dodge Dakota st 4x4 3.7l v6 automatic with 25000 miles now 115000 miles. Since I got the truck in 08 while on cruise sometimes RPMs will rev up to say 2500 then it will shift gears. But it does not do it all the time? The dealer could not figure it out and no codes ever. I have done regular maint since I got it. Flushes trans about every 15000 miles and changed 4x4 fluid and rear end fluid as well along with adding synthetic oil and mobile 1 oil filter every 5000 miles. I changed the filter and fluid and flushed at 90000 miles. Due to regular ... | |||||
| 1996 Dakota Headlight/dashboard problems | 18Relevance | 6 years ago | DBFB61804 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hello everyone, got kind of a debacle here. I'll try my best to explain since google doesn't give me the answers I need: I have an old 1996 Dodge Dakota with 128000 mi with an auto transmission, and the other day when I started it I instinctively turned on my headlights. However, this time suddenly my dashboard went wonky. All the gauges on my dashboard just went out, rpm to zero, fuel to empty, etc. The only things that come on the dashboard is the left and right signal and hi beams, even though none of those are on. I then get out and check to see if the ... | |||||

| 2000 Dakota no OD/Cruise Control | 18Relevance | 6 years ago | wjp | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hello! Dodge Dakota 2000 3.9 (4dr) w/ 269k miles automatic. Codes: P0455, P0123, P0121, P01740 Issue: I seem to have lost overdrive and my cruise control doesn't seem to be responding. I've noticed that the temperature gauge seems very low even when I have been driving for a while. I don't remember where it used to register but it appears low to me now. I have some clues from the codes of course and other ideas but I wanted to get fresh eyes or perhaps someone who has seen this before. Thanks in advance. | |||||
