| Definetly not because of quality or customer satistaction MotorBiscuit: "On the ropes after paying out millions to victims of the Pinto debacle, Ford faced another disastrous recall in 1980 after the NHTSA announced after a three-year investigation it found that Ford automatic transmissions built between 1966 and 1980 contained a defect where they could slip from park into reverse, causing them to roll unexpectedly. After reports by Mother Jones and the Detroit Free Press, it came out that the company had known about the defect since at least 1972, an ... | |||||
| Answer to: 2000 Ford Ranger misfire with p0320 | 31Relevance | 4 years ago | Justin Shepherd | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I google searched that P0320 code in the 2000 Ford ranger. It's a crankshaft position sensor fault to the computer, but in the ranger, it doesn't necessarily mean the CPS is bad. The stuff I read says it's more than likely not. It's possibly a wiring issue. Google Search P0320 2000 Ford ranger and read through the ranger forums that come up. One guy had a similar issue to yours, and it ended up being a wiring problem. | |||||

| Ford Ranger vs Ford Maverick | 29Relevance | 3 years ago | Mohammed-117 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hello everyone, Since both the ranger and maverick are out in the market for a good time, I wanna know which one has better reliability than the other whether they are new or used? The maverick have 2 engines option, while the ranger have on 1 engine. Also, which does have better maintenance when it comes to cost and parts? While the maverick is cheaper, but if the ranger is overall better except MPG, I might end up getting the ranger. I don't have lots of work to do except loading medium weight stuff, traveling, and daily drive. Best regards. | |||||

| Hello Scotty, I reserved a Ford Bronco was thinking about getting the black diamond ($48k 6 cyc.) but I saw Ford announce the 2021 ranger with the tremor pack seeing a lot of place that it’s seconds it to what the ranger raptor can be, my question(s), what would you recommend from the two Ford models and then comparing that model to the 2021 Tacoma TRD off road. 😬 | |||||
| Answer to: ford ranger | 44Relevance | 2 years ago | Justin Shepherd | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| No, it's not a bolts on and off procedure at all. The ECU needs reprogrammed, for one, and they may not be compatible with each other. They also modified the transmission from a 4R44E to a 5R55E. You'd be better off just buying a whole newer ranger that doesn't have rust. I have a 1999 ranger as well, but mine is an extended cab. They basically spliced the frames together from the factory, the forward part is apparently better-quality steel than the rear end. I heard consumer groups were advocating for a recall many years, but there never was one. My ranger's still mostly OK, but a rear crossmember is biting the dust. What's weird, is the bodywork is still rust-free after 25 years. Ford made the original rangers until 2012, and they made thousands of them. Give a prospective ranger a through underbody inspection and take it to a mechanic to do a once-over on it. | |||||

| Answer to: 2001 ranger 3.0 | 23Relevance | 5 years ago | jack62 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Your ranger uses a "wasted spark" type coil ignition system. That means that each coil in your coil pack fires 2 cylinders at the same time. It fires one cylinder on the compression stroke and another cylinder on the exhaust stroke (wasted spark). The fact that you have misfires on 1 & 5 seems to point to the 1/5 coil in your coil pack being shorted out. Replace your coil pack | |||||
| Answer to: New Ford Ranger vs New Toyota Tacoma | 23Relevance | 5 years ago | 7.3PunchInA3.4 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| You say you aren't asking about reliability... If you aren't worried about reliability the ranger is a much better bet. Between better numbers in fuel economy, power, and price, the ranger is the only option. (if you aren't worried about its life in 7-10 years) They Tacoma will probably have fewer issues over an extended period of time, but if you aren't worried about that go ranger. | |||||
