What's your opinion on a 2002 Buick Lesbre with 61,000 miles for $3500. Car looks to be in very good condition. Is the 3800 V6 engine as good as it's rumored to be? What should I look out for specifically on this model of car during inspection? What's the weak spot?
Look for the odometer having been turned back. Is this from a dealer?
This is from a private party, not a dealer.
Yes, that engine is very solid. I have the same engine in a 2001 Regal. I have 291,000 miles on it and it runs great. The weak spot is the transmission. I had to replace mine near 100k miles. The remanufactured one has been trouble free and still shifts great with nearly 200k miles.
Which is a better car, a 2008 Crown Victoria (police interceptor) with 52,000 miles or a 2002 Buick LeSabre with 62,000 miles. All things being considered equally in terms of condition (both being excellent).
Was the crown Victoria a police detective chaser or a cruiser?
I would go with the Buick LeSabre- I hope they aren't asking too much money.
Of course they are asking too much money. Police car was a detective car. doesn't have all the holes in it from the police equipment.
