Hello Scotty,

I got a 2018 Honda civic hatchback sport touring with a CVT transmission. I have not changed the transmission fluid in 90k miles, i know this is a bad part from me for not doing it every 30k, is my first brand new car and didnt do much research on the cvt transmission. I called the dealerships and they are saying i need to do 1 flush and some dealerships said 3 flushes 1 for every 30k miles. Do i need a flush or does is just needs a change?

Do not flush it.

How come? Im just trying to find out more info on the matter, i been only friving the car on the freeway hence the miles. Is my transmission gone too far of no way return?

Flush does not do any good to your transmission. In fact, it may harm it.

Well thank you for the knowledge, i guess the only worry i had was that i did not change it in 90k miles and its a cvt transmission, i read other forums and people seem to change it every 30k.

Ideally, you should change it every 30k miles to make it last. Being a Honda, you most likely be fine if you do drain and refill but I can't say that if you flush it.

As @yaser said don't do a flush; just drain and refill it. And it's a Honda so make sure you use exactly the transmission fluid stated in the owners manual; don't try to make it cheaper by using a different brand or anything.
