ARCO GAS

I was always told by mechanics to not use ARCO gas because it causes engine problems. I live in California, is there really an issue with ARCO gas as they say or was that just something in the past.Thanx!

I've never had any issues with ARCO personally. Maybe if you're running a performance car I'd stick with Chevron or 76 or Mobil.

I live in So. Cal by the way. Everyone's experience may differ but I've never noticed any issues personally.

Hi, I don't think it's ARCO because all gas comes from the same refinery, but it's what they do with it after it leaves there, if you buy it from an old station it might have dirt/water from the old tank underground and that can happen with all gas, I had it happen with Chevron when I stopped at a older station, try getting your gas at newer station

YES!! AVOID ARCO AT ALL COSTS! I've had some engine hesitation episodes when I pumped arco gas into my bmw 428i. I swore I would never use their gas again! One time my dad filled up his car with arco gas, and it ruined his gas gauge for a few days. It literally pointed upside down, but it eventually got fixed when he used up all that bad gas. That's my experience with arco...
