Hi Scotty. back in October 2021 through a family friend i purchased a 2007 Nissan Altima for 5K, with the odometer reading 145,000 miles. Later in January through Carfax i learned that it actually had 260,000 miles. Until now i did spend on the car like, changing the tensioner, the radiator, the links (pardon me I'm not sure if that's what it's called) by the struts? Presently it is running absolutely smooth, some steering and brake noises here and there. Has 274hp and does run pretty well. Oil change is done every 3000 miles. I'm trying my best to maintain it. Could you please give me your feedback or take on this car and your opinion on how long do you think it'll last?

From my experience and seeing others go through this as well this is usually a mistake and doesn’t turn out well.

So, which is it?  Mistakes can sometimes be made in CarFax.   A mechanic with a high end scan tool like Scotty’s can tell you the mileage.

If it’s truly 260,000+ miles it is beyond its useful life.  Even at 140,000+ miles it is pushing it.   Personally, if this vehicle is your daily and you depend on it, I would start looking at something else.  The CVT transmissions on those are the weak link:
.

Thank you so much for your opinion, sir. I appreciate it. I am actually looking into a used car, but honestly, I'm just waiting for the used car market to be more affordable. i do think about Toyotas. Which year/model Toyota would you recommend? Thanks.
