Scotty what do you think about the 2021 Acura RDX?

I just bought a 2021 Acura RDX and the only engine option was a 4 cylinder turbo-charged engine that makes 272 HP and 280 lb feet of torque. Is oil dilution a problem with these engines too? (it calls for 0W-20 oil and I plan on changing it every 5,000 miles). I know I already bought it and it's kind of too late to ask, just want to know if I am the owner of a brand new endless money pit.

If you want to keep it forever, do not push that engine too hard, and yes, change the oil every 5000 miles.

Scotty,

I also own a 2021 Acura RDX. I watched your video on the 0W-16 oil. Would you suggest using this oil for this engine?

I contacted my service manager at the dealer and sadly they don't know if this engine has any oil dilution. I have read on other forums that the 2019 does suffer from the oil dilution. This may sound silly, but does highway driving (about 45 minutes each way) take away some of the oil dilution effects?

Thank you for sharing your knowledge! 🙂

See below:  That generation is still fairly new (started model year 2019)

I know Scotty recently had a video saying the 2.0L turbo I4 engines do not have oil dilution, but I would still follow the mitigation steps below (to be safe):

Be sure to also stay on top of the transmission fluid changes to make that transmission (10-speed and jury is still out on its longevity) last as long as possible.  I would go every 40,000 miles or what your owner’s manual suggests - whichever is less.
