Went threw two alternators and two batteries what is causing this nightmare Mr. Kilmer? I’m a single girl living in the boonies in California and  I’m far from any town ! got to get this car running to get to a shop for diagnostics or something !!! help !!! {black}:tears: I hate getting stranded for 11 hours every other night thank you !!

Did you mean to post this as a new topic? It does not seem to have anything to do with the matter at hand in the rest of this thread.

  😆

There's no such thing as unbiased.

Research multiple sources, and form your own opinions in life. Trust no one!

All these car review websites are basically marketing department extensions of companies. Heck, even all these YouTubers that do explicit car reviews are basically extensions of those marketing departments too.

You want unbiased? There are none.

As everyone else said websites like Consumer Reports or Jd powers etc. don't give accurate mechanical reviews; they are either based off of how much the manufacturer paid them for a review or consumer surveys which I don't think anyone would want to admit to their mistake in a purchase (or satisfaction within first 6 months or first year of purchase isn't a good metric).

NHSTA has list of complaints, recalls, and open investigations for different vehicles. You can search within this forum to see if anyone has asked about the same car as you are wanting to know about. Forums for the car you are interested in (but also remember people would come there if they are having issues to find an answer for it so it can be a bit biased). Carcomplaints website can be a good one too.

The problem is that nearly all "reviewers" concentrate on features rather than long-term reliability, durability, and cost of repairs. Therefore they give glowing reviews to cars like Hyundai/Kia or Audi, etc. It takes an experienced mechanic like Scotty to know how they hold up in the real world.

Unfortunately, there is no web version of Scotty. @Doc has a great advice here.

There are none that are trustworthy, IMO.  If I want real world information on a vehicle, I"ll google it for reviews.  Then I'll get forums and recall notices form owners, not rating services.
