| 2013 Kia Optima loses power, eventually stalls, no MIL, no codes | 19Relevance | 4 years ago | eldoradocaddy | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| 2013 Kia Optima EX, 2.4L GDI engine, 127,000 miles, I'm the original owner. I was getting oil on my driveway and took it to my mechanic (not dealership). Diagnosed as worn valve cover gaskets. I had the shop replace the worn gaskets, and spark plugs. When I picked up the car, the engine was cold, I let it run for a few minutes and began to drive home. I was doing about 40 mph. It was driving fine but then it lost power. The engine didn't turn off, but the RPMs dropped below 500. No MIL lamp came on and no DTC codes were produced. I pressed on the gas, but no ... | |||||
| Answer to: Here's why people defend Hyundai/Kia | 19Relevance | 4 years ago | Dan | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| Hyundai/Kia does in the US they do what Honda/Toyota do in the rest of the world and sell cheap crap. BUT, As far as European models like the Kia Stonic 1.4 MPi 6AT? Kia xCeed 1.6 MPi 6AT? Kia Pincato 1.25 4AT? These Euro-models are great simple, cheap, safe (for their size) cars. People who have had these MPi AT cars, usually are very satisfied, because they just do not brake down with very rare exceptions. All of these are genuinely good cars, I'd trust them to last over a HR-V, Civic 1.0 or a Jazz with those horrid Clutched CVTs. I don't ... | |||||

| ... on it. I look at my new 2.5L GDI and the only change I see are the heads and the fuel rail. It still has the holes for a power steering pump despite the steering being EPS. There are a whole bunch of new sensors all over the engine. Oh I forgot they relocated the dip stick. They did that because there were incidents where the stick would break off and get wrapped around the crank causing a catastrophic failure. It is now off to one side. The new dip stick is more robust. The original was ultra thin stamped metal. I remember mine breaking one time but I was ... | |||||

When they are teenagers you need the 3rd row seat for separation especially if you hauling a bunch of them. When I was a kid we roughhoused in the back seat. Now they wine about not having enough USB jacks to charge their phones. | Answer to: Should I buy a 2021 Kia Carnival??? | 19Relevance | 5 years ago | MountainManJoe | Submit Your Question HERE
| The Kia Carnival (Sedona) has a Lambda engine which is known for rattling valves which are very expensive to fix. It has been recalled for fires, over and over. The thing is, Kia doesn't know how to make engines. They've recalled six million vehicles just since 2015 for fire risk, and millions more are under investigation now (right up to current models). Their engines and transmissions often fail or catch fire days after leaving the factory. They've been fined a quarter of a billion dollars, because they knowingly ignore problems, and paid billions more in ... | |||||

| Hi Scotti Love the videos ever since you called my Kia a piece of crap and pictured me freezing in the snow. I am looking to replace my wife's Hyundai Santa Fe. It's ten years old and beginning to cost money despite only 58 thousand miles on it. I bought a Kia Sorento in December and the car runs pretty good. This is my first experience with AWD and it was great in snow compared to the FWD Santa Fe. The Santa Fe's engine and training are in good working order it's just the peripherals are failing. The steering rack, then the power steering pump, Wheel hubs, ... | |||||

| @MrBob Hyundai/Kia warranties are not transferrable to secondary owners. This is not a dealer policy, but the manufacturer's policy regardless of dealer, state, etc. The only way it is transferrable is if the vehicle is sold as a Certified Used vehicle. Again, this is not a dealer choice but a directive straight from the manufacturer. This is what I've been telling people for years because people will buy these cars used as they are cheap and then feel like they have a 100k mile warranty. That is NOT the case. Read carefully past the dealer spin of "YES it is transferrable" to the paragraph titled "Is the warranty transferrable?". You'll see the 100k warranty is NOT. To the OP, that is a bad situation your friend is in. All he can do is take it as an expensive lesson and not purchase Hyundai/Kia products in the future. | |||||

| NHTSA- Remedy Kia will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the engine compartment for fuel and/or engine oil leaks, perform an engine test and make any repairs, including engine replacement, as necessary, free of charge. In addition, Kia dealers will update the Knock Sensor Detection System (KSDS) software, free of charge. The KSDS software update is not yet available for 2014-2015 Forte and Forte Koup and 2011-2013 Optima Hybrid vehicles. A second letter will be sent to those vehicle owners once the software update is available. The recall began Januar ... | |||||

| It could be decently reliable if you are keeping it for 4-6 years or something but if you want 150k miles out of it your out of luck. Here is what caredge.com has to say about Kia Stinger depreciation: "If you purchase a used Kia Stinger that is 2 years old, then you could save $13,346 compared to buying new, and still have a relatively new model with plenty of useful life remaining. If you plan to keep this vehicle for 3 years then your total cost of depreciation would be $9,486. Try other age and ownership length combinations, or different vehicles to se ... | |||||

| Many of us older folk are buying Kia Souls. Wife and I, in our 80's, were shopping for something we did not feel like climbing out of or dropping into, that was easy to see out of and easy to park at Walmart. A Kia Soul fit that description. We drive less than 5,000 miles a year split between two vehicles. We have a 2008 Ford Expedition, with 60,000 miles on it, that is like riding in our recliners after we climb up to enter. We also have a 2013 Kia Soul, with about 65,000 miles on it, that the seaT is neither high or low to enter, is easy to see ou ... | |||||

The post is about how the dealership swapped working MCU with a cracked one replaced from a demo vehicle and in the process damaged/scratched the ac vents. All this unfolded when the user installed dashcam recorded the conversation between two service personnel taking the vehicle for the ride in absence of customer. | Hey Scotty, Here's some info on how unethical, unscrupulous a company Kia is. Their Kia Seltos sold here in India got an extremely poor 3 star safety rating when crash tested by GNCAP. Also, the body shell/structure was rated as UNSTABLE and incapable of withstanding any further loadings. The same Kia Seltos (sold for the Australian market) when tested by ANCAP scored a full 5 stars which just shows the level of cost cutting done by Kia for the garbage they sell in India. To top it off, the Seltos isnt cheap either, the fully loaded variants are sold for a ...
