Hey, Scotty

If I'm thinking to buy a Brand New Car or Motorcycle with completely different Engine and/or Transmission Design sooner or later in the Future, should I do Conservative Maintenance such as changing Engine Oil every 3k miles and changing Transmission Fluid ever 15k miles to make it last as long as possible before something bad finally happened?

Thank You

If brand new, yes its a good idea to change oil quickly to remove any undesirables that could be inside. Transmissions dont need such often changes. If its not heating up, you are not towing. It can lasts 50.000 miles easy. Google - transmission life expectancy vs fluid temperature. Most transmission work at around 175*F. I would change tranny fluid just to be safe every 30k miles. If you use mineral tranny fluid then every 10k miles. Just a side note ... mineral fluid holds better plates so they wont slip, and much better when cold (around 5-10%). Mineral is advised on trucks and buses ... etc. And whenever you change fluid make 100% sure gasket is not dripping. Check after tranny warms up to 100% temperature, in winter it can take an hour. They are very picky on level of fluid inside, and small leak can ruin your transmission. New silicon gasket is preffered when removing oil pan and putting it back again.

Depends what engine oil, mineral i would change every 2k miles, syn 4k, full syn 6k.

For the Engine Oil, I always use High Quality API-SP GF-6A Full Synthetic Oil and changed it every 3k miles because of I'm tend to drive my car extremely very hard like a maniac

My car is 2017 Lexus LS460 F Sport (1UR-FSE) with 15k miles/24k kilometers

Welll ... yeah its a good idea when you put it that way.
