Hey Scotty!
I recently replaced the clutch master cylinder on my 2008 Ford Ranger with 92,000 miles and it squeaks just as bad as the one I replaced. I lubricated the old one with some silicone lubricant and that quieted things down for a few days, but then the noise came back and the pedal started sticking.
Would you recommend trying a dry graphite lubricant on the clutch master cylinder to quiet the noise?
Thanks in advance!!
I wouldn't try dry lube, anti seize & rem-oil seem to cover all the bases for me unless something specific is called for.
Isn't rem-oil for guns? Have you ever tried it on a clutch master cylinder before? Is it safe on rubber?
Yes, rem-oil was created for firearms but I use it on everything because it can take heavy abuse. The teflon in it makes for a glass like effect.
It's fine on rubber & plastics, there's no acetone in it. I used it on my door seals instead of silicone, they're still fine
