Should I change the ATF every 3000 miles in my 2015 Lexus RC350?

Hello Scotty I got a 2015 Lexus RC350 with 62k miles, I’ve ask the dealer was the transmission fluid changed and they said it was. I told them that I plan on changing it every 3k miles, they said there is a seal in the car that would remove it and that I don’t really need to worry about. Any advice.

did you mean 30k?

3k is crazy

Maybe he’s a clean tranny fluid freak?

Even the 30k miles is overkill.

Change it every 60k miles, not 3k miles.

I changed the fluid in my Xterra at 48,000 miles and the Mustang at 68,000. I plan to do future changes every 30,000 even though it's overkill. I suppose there's a time factor that would require fluid changes more frequently though.

Didn’t they already break the seal when they changed the tranny fluid?

Or did they claim that they did the job?

I'm thinking that they told you that it is a sealed transmission (in that it has no dipstick). You can do a drain and fill yourself at whatever interval that you want, probably replaces about one third of the fluid each time you do it. As the others said, every 3K is way more often than most folks would do it, but hey, it's your car and your time and money. Good luck regardless.
