| Which of these is the best car? | 11Relevance | 4 years ago | KrisTTBoda | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| A couple I know in Washington state, my relatives, are saying goodbye to their 2007 Cadillac Escalade with over 250,000 miles. It has a 6.2 V8. I want to help them out. Which of these cars should they get? Planning to buy this summer. They are deciding between those: 2022 Nissan Armada, 5.6 V8 2022 Ford Expedition, 3.5 V6 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe, 3.0 duramax Diesel Thanks for your recommendations. | |||||

| ... mirrors to see around. But it gets a lot more difficult when you are talking about a small market like the Caribbean, or Alaska, or a mining town in Nevada or something. You will need to take into account parts and service in a way you wouldn't in a large North American metro area. So with that in mind, a Hilux would really seem like a good option. A Tundra, probably less so. And a Titan almost certainly not. But it really depends on local factors. If there is a good Ford dealer that has a good service department, that might make your decision. | ... is not making a lot of friends. The best diesel half ton is the Chevy/GMC with the 3L duramax. I bought a Sierra with the 3L diesel a year ago and couldn’t be happier, and I get 25-30 mpg on the highway when I’m not towing. But if you don’t need new, the best truck for your needs is the 2014-21 Tundra with the V8 (5.7L, I think) ... other than gas mileage it’s pretty near a perfect truck. | |||||
| Truck pulls to right after several alignments | 11Relevance | 3 years ago | Luker0790 | Submit Your Question HERE | |
| I bought a 2020 silverado 2500 duramax with 48,000 miles. When I test drove it, I noticed that was pulling to the right. I made sure that wasn't from the pitch of the roads, or the wind. The tires were pretty new, so I assumed that it just needed an alignment. Everything else was solid, the carfax was clean, the truck was meticulously maintained, and the price was good, so I bought it. It was a rental, which I know should typically be avoided, but i went with my gut. I took it to my trusted mechanic for an alignment. After working on it for two days, 5 align ... | |||||

| I agree with @fjcruiser2014 that the new Tundra is still the cream. Probably never be as reliable as the previous V8 (what is?) but still pretty good. I bought a new truck a year ago, and narrowed it down to a Tundra versus GMC 1500 with the 3L duramax. I went with the GM. Even though I know that there will be more things to fix, the drive train itself is solid (and considering it gets 25 mpg all day, pretty compelling). I figure that between the discount I got (good luck getting a discount on a new Tundra) and fuel savings, that will likely offset the ... | |||||

| Hello everyone~ Recently I am considering the 2023 diesel Silverado 1500. Especially the trail boss trim level. Any thoughts on this truck? Are the i6 duramax diesel engine and the 10-speed transmission reliable? (I love torquey Diesel engines. And fuel efficiency is also important to me. I drive about 60 miles each day to work.) Thank you guys in advance 🙏 | |||||

| Depends on how large of a truck you want to drive I personally like fords so something like f-250 or f-350 or if you need a large truck an f-450. But if you don't want a ford then trucks with the duramax 6 are really reliable. | |||||

| Scotty, I have a 2018 Chevy Colorado with the 2.8L duramax. I do my own maintenance but I was dumb and believed the "never have to change the tranny fluid" so I haven't yet but I drive a lot and have 105,000 miles plus. I went into the dealer and they told me " oh you should have had that changed but now we don't want to do it because it might screw it up" is this true or should I change it now and then stay with it regularly? I do a fair amount of towing but mostly my miles are from the highway. | |||||

| What dad2pwd said, the 4cyl duramax is actually a really good engine. I'd choose that if youre looking to do towing. Road test them all to see what ride quality you like. | |||||

| Hard to know. Scotty featured that truck in a video a couple years ago and had favorable things to say. And generally the baby duramax is reasonably solid (full disclosure, I had an order on a diesel canyon until it got supply-chained and chip-shortaged out). But even if “average” reliability is OK, yours hasn’t exactly shown itself well. Its a real unique vehicle - a midsize diesel pickup. It has a lot to like, but obviously it isn’t going to appeal to everyone. If you generally like it, maybe find a mechanic to do an inspection (and maybe do an oi ... | |||||

| ... not tow anything if you can. The new truck will certainly be a step up in fit-and-finish; it looks pretty nice. And I believe they are putting a different transmission in it; could have problems, too, but I doubt it will be any worse. But the new engine and all the tuning variations are a wild card. (It is an interesting/weird strategy. They are going to put the same basic engine in all trim levels, but give it different tunes for different power levels depending on what trim level you buy.) So the transmission will likely be better, but the engine... ... | |||||

| ... on this forum these days, but I think it's a reasonable second choice. I agree with @doc that you want to avoid cylinder deactivation. If for some reason you want a GM, get the 3.0 duramax (which, by the way, is what I have and I am very happy). AFAIK, GM does not have a hybrid option (apparently they decided making unreliable, low-quality EV trucks is a better business model). If for some reason you wanted a Ram, I'd get the 5.7 Hemi. They have had a "mild hybrid" system, but I am not sure they still offer it, and if they don't it won't be missed (it ... | |||||
